Device GPS Advice

Hello,

There are on the market more and more very cheap Chinese GPS devices. Unfortunately, They shine for most of the lack of light (especially on a sunny day) and a low GPS signal.

Anyone could advise a GPS device (Chinese or other) high-quality and affordable price running WinCE 6.0 or Android 4.x?

Regards

Truck Maps - Primo Versions

Hi, I've only recently come to Igo Primo from Tomtom when I bought one of the truck sat nav's for use with a mobile home having had a bad experience with a gradually thinning road in Italy, hence the truck version.

The version installed on my machine was 1.2 and worked well.

I decided to check the size/weight limitations of the software by testing a route on a local stretch of road that I know ...

Tomtom v Naxteq (in Europe)

Feedback I get from forums is that the TomTom map coverage is better than that of Navteq for Europe (UK here).

The Tomtom .FBL file is 115MB and the Navteq one is 84MB (both Q4 2012). Is this significant or simply down to better compression techniques.

I'd happily use TomTom but the addition files such as .FPA, .FDA and .FSP don't seem to be readily available (are they and if so where). Navteq have these ...

Igo on Android - question about skin

I installed a new version of iGo (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12449-iGO-Primo-2.0.2-9.6.7.274244-Explay-Infinity-II-7-Februar-2013/page2) on my LG L9 by uninstalled my prevision and executed the new exe file without removing my original iGo folder. It seems to work fine but I have a question about skins. The new version has several skin under /content/skin. I copied them to my existing iGo but it does not detect them. When I go to setting->display, all it shows is the default. What do I ...

Mix n match

Can you mix and match different elements of the map, poi's, art profiles etc.

It is argued that for the UK TomTom have the better maps. However I don't have the smart route profiles and the like for tomTom but I do for Navteq. If these files are put in the same folder will Primo reference them or simply ignore them on loadup (if I only have the TomTom fbl present)

Updating maps on Igo primo 2.2

I have had Primo 2.2 on my Insignia ns-nav01 for probably about two years now. I noticed on my last trip to Michigan there were a couple roads that had moved and a few new ones so when I got home naturally I sought out to update the maps on my device. They are all simply named such as "US_Michigan" and so on on my device currently but the new .fbl files I downloaded from ...
