I recently acquired an old TomTom Rider v2 that has Navcore 7.540, bootloader 5.5012, and the WNRO issue so it won't acquire satellites. It came with the original 512MB SD card and it isn't large enough to hold the latest 1145 UK map so I'll need to buy a bigger card.

Some questions:

- Which Navcore should I update to? Is Navcore 9.500 (32MB) still the go to for older Rider devices?

Has a solution been found? Is it possible to update it to the v1145 maps or are updates still impossible on the old models?

TomTom VIA 135 bootloader+Navcore instal from SD Card how?


How can I reinstall the system from an SD card, because it is not possible from TomTomMydrive.
It recognizes the GPS and sees what is on it, but when I start the update it says that the GPS is not responding.
What and how to install on the SD card?

Hoping this wil be an easy question.

Trying to update a friends Nav3 based device but keep getting a not compatible(or similar screen error message) So I am curious as too which is the latest that can be used.

Using TTactivator 1.20 to update btw,

There was a topic posted sometime ago that seems to have disappeared.

It was to do with getting the old XXL540 device that might be dead as in map updates but can still download new maps direct from TomTom using a particular tool or command, obviously one still needs to pay for yearly subscription to TomTom,

I used it once, it worked but now cant find it.

Does anyone here know what it's called ...

hi there - i currently use a pda device with tomtom 7.910 and uk maps but obviously for quite a while now the meta codes are no longer available

i use the pda for work on a daily basis because with the tomtom on it i can enter gps coordinates on it and we use grid references to navigate to jobs

is there any way to maybe use western europe maps on it ?

Just stumbled back upon this.

I havent used my tomtom's for over 10 yeras now , i am realint on Google maps these days.

I wanted to ask if with Urban areas in Europe , is a Sat nav still better than a Pixel phome running google maps ?

What i mean is if a Tomtom will be more accurate position wise when it only has a GPS signal to rely on ? ...
