Hi
I heard about some issues with installing new maps on Tomtom Via 120/140 navigation devices.
There is Linux partition type of system.
How about format this partition in FAT and try to copy there some navcore from other device?
I assume that hardware in Via devices must be the same like in other devices but only file system is different.
What do you think about that?

ive looked at the map chart update for best european maps, the 1 i think is the most update and best to install is western europe 910-4892, however the tech guys on here sometimes disagree and actually say go back to 905 set, especially when iwas install the french map.
at present i have
france 905-4754
uk roi 910- 4892

I have a go 700; I have download this map but when try activate (fastactivat) give me this error:
incomplecte map Europe_South-784.meta => .dct error.
Is this meta file wrong or the map it's incomplectete?

I haven't updated anything at all from TomTom Home in case it blocks anything. I went into menu on the satnav and checked my version it says:

App 8.351, OS: 315187
64MB Ram
GPS 1.20
Boot: 5.5120
Map UK and Ireland 710.1561

i got a 910.xxxx tomtom west europe map, ran fastactivate properly.
everything is OK, mapshare excepted.
impossible to move the cursor in "mapshare preference" : stays at "strict".
the tab country is empty.
i have an IQ route, with navcore 9.510.
tthome, version 4.8. (I got a patch with this version to have the choice to download or not navcore update, I fake tomtom to maintain this version on my computer).

Hi I was wondering if someone can recommend me one or two different models of TomTom that can be hacked. I'm aware that certain ones can't be due to some program change but I want to be 100% sure that the one I get can be.

Its for the UK only and price doesn't really matter
