The ultimate guide on TT's LoquendoTT system and how to make

First my apologies for taking so long to create this and for being complicated, but it is a hard probelm with TT's....
In this posting I will update on
a) how to modify the crippled TT LoquendoTTS V7 voices to conform to Loquendo standards
b) how to modify certain words and phrases with the use of the working Loquendo engine

TT hangs and does not respond after a new map is installed

I think the problems are related to the way the map is installed and selected.
Example: 860map is installed and running fine, new 880 map get's added and activated - all fine device boots and you switch to the new map in the menu.
860map is installed and working, new 880 is added and the old map deleted - many devices will hang and stop to work normally.

How to get maximum available RAM on small devices

If you want to play with plugins, TTS etc. on small devices (32 MB RAM) you run into the problem to have not enough available RAM.
Navigation gets slower or freezes.

Latest NavCores get more and more features while needing more and more RAM.

Startung with NC v9 most plugins stopped working properly.
The interface to the gps has been changed.
Printing popup-messages on the screen became difficult.
"Snap-to-road" feature got lost.

History of NavCores

Some of you are "hunting" for the latest available NavCore and think the largest version number is what you want.

This is definitely wrong.
If you want to know which NC release is the latest, you should take a closer look on the "birthday".
Also keep in mind that NCs for completely different models than yours could cause surprising results.

Rider3 app on non_Rider and old Rider devices

Maybe someone who don't has a Rider or has an old Rider wants to try the NC 9.205 (Urban Rider; Birthday= 05 July 2010) to use the features of the new Urban Rider.

I have an One 2nd edition (32MB RAM).

I can use use this original NC, but
- available RAM shrinks to ~0MB.
- the GUI looks oldfashioned and not like a Rider.

Thanks to DSA it is possible to run this NC ...

Got it working!!! TomTom Start upgraded to full NavCore 9 with sound working. :thumbup:

My Tomtom Start was from New Zealand, purchased around Oct 2010. Started as: App: 8.544 (1836/091016) OS: 367764 64MB RAM, GPS: v1.20, Boot: 5.5238

WinCE Mapshare Patch

WinCE Mapshare patch

1. Make copy of TTNAVIGATOR.BIF to TTGO.ORI

2. copy these files to root directory download WinCE Mapshare patch

3. "Current MAP" folder contain CurrentMap.dat files

default CurrentMap.dat contain scandinavia, so you must use folder name scandinavia for your map
copy some .dat file to root of device (rename it and replace old one).
you can open .dat files with notepad and you see what is inside but do not edit anything
