Lost SD card on Carminat TomTom Live

I just bought a Renaud Grand Scénic 3 (year 2012) with Carminat TomTom Live.

Unfortunatelly, there was no SD card in the GPS slot, and I'm afraid there is no way to get it from previous owner :-(
Thus GPS display "No Maps Found".
I have 2 TomTom devices, so I had previously downloaded some maps for those 2 GPS.... Thus I am trying to create a new SD from scratch for my car.


Here is what I have done :

• Remark: during previous tests, my car GPS updated from version 9.844 to version 9.884. So I know that my NavCore version is 9.884.

• I take an empty SD card, and insert it into my car. I switch on radio and wait for GPS to start. I switch off radio, remove SD and insert it into PC.
=> A new file is create on my SD : loopdir\loopback.ext3
• I start TomTom Home and do Help | System Information. I got information below:
Name = Carminat TomTom LIVE
Product Code = XXXXXXXXXXX
Serial Number = XXXXXXXXXXX
• Still using TomTom Home I click on « Update my Carminat TomTom ». It tells me my device is up to date and just proposes to install speed cameras.
=> A folder statdata and a file tthome.bif are created on my SD card.
• Then I copy map Western_Europe_1GB_915_5106 which is compatible with all NavCore (from 8.xx to 12.xx , then compatible with my NavCore 9.884)
• I start Explore2fs, and open file fichier loopdir\loopback.ext3. I copy file ttgo.bif to the root of my SD card (this is required to make FastActivate find my SD card and work)
• I run FastActivate and select option 2 (Patch maps). It says it is OK:
Complete Map(s) : Western_Europe_1GB_822.meta => .dct OK
• I remove ttgo.bif from root of my SD card
• I remove SD from my computer and insert it into my car and switch on radio. It fails to work with error message below:
Problem with map
You cannot use this map on this device :
Western_Europe_1GB-822

What did I missed ?

You have a tomtom live system.
With this one can be mutually exchange the tickets.
One can use / make like the classic version. No cracked version

Or buy new at the Renault dealer or tomtom.

O problema tem haver com o activador. Terás de utilizar o easyactivator do Albert. O fast activator não funciona para o GPS de carro.

Hi guys i brought one megane 2011 with navi and instaled germany maps.
I update the navcore to 9.884 and working with germany maps (DE_AT_CH).
I live in Greece and i tried to change the maps grom germany to Greece maps but appeare this message :
"You cannot use this map on this device"
I tried many version from greece maps without succes.
I lost about 4 days with searching in forums, i tried to patch the maps with latest FastActivate and appeare message :
Complete Map(s) : Greece.meta => .dct OK
But when put the sd in my car says message : "You cannot use this map on this device"
Only with germany maps working but the car is here in Greece.
Please how can fix the my problem ?
I can to downgrade the navcore version im my car ?
or i can use any other maps pacth ?

I would say the DE map is genuine and your Navcore not patched.
Even with the correct DCT for the map activation you need a patched Navcore to make it work.

Hi many thanks for you answer please can you tell me how can patch the Navcore 9.884 ?
I tried to patch the ttsystem with FastActivate but when click in button "Patch Navcore" after 5'' the program FastActivate closed.
(my operate system is windows 7 32bit)
the ttsystem file from v9.884 is about 90mb but from older version is about 3bm
Please anyone can help me ?

The 9.844 can not be patched as TT changed the code.
And sorry, a downgrade is not possible as the bootloader only accepts files with the correct hash code.

That would be correct.
There was a discussion some time ago about the patching but it did not bring any results for the newer Navcores.

Hi this is about the new Carminat LIve !! ,
i think several times, people tried to simply activate maps with no sucess ,
you can use Explore2fs to obtain ttgo.bif ,
or simply open loopdir on notepad and look for the 10 digit device ID
and then use easyactivator , to generate the .DCT file of map

But still always get:
You can not use this map on this device

Can you share if you are sucess ?

As said many time before: Creating a key for the map is not enough - unless you also have a patched Navcore it still won't work.
The newer Carminat Navcores can not be patched as they use a secure bootloader.
