I'm a total newbie at this, so I'd like to get a little on updating my Carminat Tomtom.

but I have a few questions:

- where is the "Download the last navcore for Tomtom Carminat"
- where can I get the last map (Iberia) compatible with my Carminat Tomtom?

You can download the navcore from TomTom:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Any map, that is compatible with navcores 8.8 is suitable for your Carminat. Carminat does not support all features of a normal TomTom, therefore there are special map versions for them. I'd have to check which is the correct version, but if you download a map for 8.8 with all features, it will for sure work in your car.

The file I downloaded is a .txt should I rename it to .cab?

No, it's not. Anyway: The link I posted does not point to the latest Navcore. For the latest NC (8.842) use this link:

Btw: I had a look at my car what the official latest map version, provided by TomTom is: 965.7251.

Hi i am driving also Renault Megane III, and have now already a working version of old benelux map on a brandnew 16GB SDHC card .
(yes with a .dct activation which works fine because redownloaded map on the SD card)

i have a version of TomTom Map Europe 9657251 (Carminat) 2.8 GB, but when i use fast activate i get error in carminat.
See part of my info (when using TTHOME info)

Thanks for redirecting me to these steps. i must have made some error before. but knowning this should work, and having seen it worked on this clean SD card i cleaned the SDcard and in 15 minutes following these steps again from scratch and exactly... it works superhappy !
