hi there i have renault scenic carminat tomtom with a sd-card the card version is 8.842 and i want to update to the latest version.
can somebody provide me the latest download link for europa and also for speedcam i don't know wich one will work and wich one need to patch.
i have never update a car navigation so i am totally new in this.
when i follow the 10 simple steps i stuck at the following steps beqause i have downloaded a few maps but i don't see the files wich i need:
3. Download the last navcore for Tomtom Carminat.
4. Extract it with Winrar, then go to "install/DS_1" and copy these two file
• IA0000700005swlimage0.zip
• IA0000700005swlimage1.zip
> To your sdcard root.
5. Extract these files with winrar (right click > extract here) in the sdcard root (overwrite files if necessary).
6. Rename the file called "~tsystem" to "ttsystem".

i don't see the tsystem or the pndnavigator files in the maps that i have downloaded maybe i have downloaded the wrong maps so can somebody give me the right links for the maps and for the speedcams and a normal tutorial on how to patch everything.

What to do?

0) Put a new sd-card in your Radio/Carminat and let create the folder "loopdir"

1) Extract "NC_8842_Full_Complete_Install_yDGpatch.zip" and copy folders and files to your sd-card.
[Please Register or Login to download file]
2) Copie ttgo.bif file to the root SD Card
3) Use map Europe 980.7898
maps-v9xx-f179/980-map-collections-only-t19323.html
Unpack it and
Copy the new map to your SD card in its own folder.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
4) Copy "FastActivate.exe"

to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2.

How to make a "ttgo.bif" file. Copie this file to the root SD Card
Create a text file with notepad called ttgo.bif (NOT ttgo.bif.txt) in the root directory of your sd card
and inside put these lines:
DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX (Your Unique Device ID with no spaces)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842 (Your Current navcore version, this is the latest official)

Open Tom-Tom Home with your old set up engaged, and take note of your Device ID
Help > System Information > Device Code > XXXXXXXXXX

hi my frend i have followed your steps but when i insert the sd-card it says no maps found.
when i read the 10 simple steps at the end it says to remove the loopback.ex3 file do i also need to this ?
when i open tomtom home everything looks like the old sd-card so i cannot see any faults what could be wrong ?

but i have 2 more questions.
1.with a normal tomtom device or android device in the settings you can see the maps version but in the renault carminat i cannot find i yust want to know if it is really 980.7898 is there a other way that i can check wich card version i have ?
2. i have downloaded the speedcams ov2 files in the speedcams section and i also have used fastactivate, somewhere i have read that when you want to update the speedcams you only need to replace the ov2 files i mean i have read that you only use 1 time fastactivate when you install the speedcams. so when i want to update the speedcams i replace all ov2 files and thats it or do i need to use again fastactivate ?

1. What Navcore and Map version do I have?
What Device ID do I have?
At Carminat:
Hold down INFO/Route key for 3 seconds. It will show "Route Details Screen"
Click right at joystick. It will show "Device Details Screen"
2. If you replace all ov2 files then you need to use fastactivate (no.2)

Look at the chart Horizontal the navcores
In your case the 8.842 so the 8.8xx

Then vertical the Green Y (navcore you use)
To the left, the maps wich can be used with the navcore
To the right wich features the map have. Those features only have use if your device supports them.
i.e the One,XL,Start has no microphone so a map wich support it (cspeech files) is not useful
(but if there is no suitable map you can alway,s use one with features i.e. cspeech files)
At least there must be a META for the map. So NO META the map
has NO USE at all.

2 must you put all the files on the original tomtom card?
3 in the file ttgo.biff (ApplicationVersionVersioNumber = 8842) my version to me is 9884 should i put that number or yours (8842)

3 with navcore 9884 it is not possible the use free maps you can only buy a new one.
It is also not possible to use nc 8.842 (downgrading).

hi frend right now i am using Europe_985_8158, i have read about 1 month there will be 990 maps, how can i update to this version without losing all my settings and history ? do i have to yust copy the new files in the maps folder and activate with Fastactivate and i am done or do i have to do something else to not lose my settings and history.
