I have an ampera 2012
My is equipped with a denso unit
i have yesterday managed to update it to a 2018 map
if you have a 2013 -> unit its a opel navi 950
The easiest way to know with do you have if if you have a2dp (to listen music via bluetooth) then its a Navi 950
If it is a just for telephone its a 2012 unit like my.
It wasn't very easy to accomplish the update but i have done it
The official update could be obtained via opel.navigation.com and its dated 2013 and its for western Europe
the update that i have done its for whole europe and its 2018

i also have an ampera with denso unit. How did you accomplish an upgrade to 2018 maps? My maps are from 2013 and starting to show it's age, it doesn't even have my house on it

Tomorrow, I will try another approach because some Amperes have boot loops issue and me and on more guy are trying to succeed in a proper update procedure.

Sounds good! Would be awesome with some newer maps.

How did it go with the new method? If you need another beta tester I can provide both a Ampere and a SAAB 9-5NG which use the same type of denso unit.

I own 2 Opel Ampera 2012 model, both have a denso unit with a HDD Toshiba MK1060GSC 100gb.
Both locked with ATA Password, so I cannot view the contents of the hard drive.

How did you unlock the HDD ?? I've tried with ZU in 5 diferent computers and it doesn't seem to work, can you please tell me the hardware you used ? MHDD recognizes the drive correctly the problem is that it's never primary or secondary or PC-3000 controller its always a PCI controller, so ZU doesn't work.

If I unlock the HDD I'm able to do several tests, I know several other car brands use the same Denso Unit, I want to try to update the GPS to a newer version and try to put speed cams as a POI or something like that.

Please help other Ampera drivers with the correct method to update to newer maps (2018 would be great).
I have seen several people who claim they succeeded, but nobody tells how they did it exactly.
