It comes up with the windows layout -

dialogue box "Application Traveller.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down"

Background shows igo logo etc, but the windows screen is also showing

So far we're at...

iGO 8 Minimal build: Crashes
iGO 8 Full build: Crashes
iGO Primo 1.1: Fails to start
iGO Primo 2: Freezes during startup

Maybe it's time to look at other GPS applications...

Tomtom doesn't run properly under WinCE6, Garmin Mobile XT might work but can be tricky to setup...

Also there is Navigon, Sygic, Navitel, Destinator plus others, Have a look through the forum, try some software, In most cases installation is the same as iGO (Rename folder\file.exe)

Try a couple and keep us updated...

Hi FatboyFun,

Sorry but i'm at a loss here: I a ure i am doing something wrong.

Destinator: link not working
Ndrive: link not working
Navitel - does the same as IGO - windows screen comes up on nav when you reboot - // Different errors.
When i downloaded, i only changed the folder to Targa, and the .exe file to traveller - but there were lots of other files that were named other things, .mscr files etc. also looked like there was other application files in the folder also -

The others i cant seem to find wince 6.0 download or am i missing something - i have tried to search to find the one i am meant to download - but maybe missing something.

I would be greatful if you can post the links here for the other navigators, that i should try please, otherwise i am getting confused as to which one of the Ndrive/Destinator/Sygic link i should be trying etc:

Thank you.

So far i found this... NDrive and this Destinator

I never used these applications though...

I get the feeling this device is one of the few that just won't run anything else.

I think you are correct.
After doing a bit of casual research, I found that these units are sold under various names (Targa, Traveller, etc) at various discount general retailers such as Lidl, etc for very little money. The software that comes with them is a lowball version of Sygic Navigator X (unsure of the exact version, but it may be "5" or so).
Judging by what others have posted elsewhere, though the units are not actually 'locked', getting other software to run on them is a bit of a nightmare or impossible. Some seem to have gotten a more up to date version of Sygic to run, but, even though the maps are based on Navteq, nobody seems to have either updated just the maps themselves OR gotten iGo/Primo/ or any other major nav software to run. So my guess is that the version of WinCE has been highly modified to the point of being proprietary to the device and the software that came with it. Hence the low retail price of the units. Sadly, it may be a case of "You get what you pay for".
