Hi fatboy,

The thread where you send me for the maps - which ones do i need -

I would like UK/ROI/Europe - but not sure which ones are for the Igo8 as you have mentioned.

Also re: the part 1 and part 2 - when i extract part2 it says that the folder already exists - so i selected rename ALL? is this right?

The latest Europe maps navteq or teleatlas will do, when all parts have downloaded extract part 1 ONLY, the rest will be extracted automatically.

I'm not seeing part three in that list.

delete what you have extracted already and place all the archives in the same folder and then extract part one.

Note what the original GPS applications folder\filename is and rename iGO's to match.

What do you refer to above?

When i plug the device in - there is an application called - "traveller" within the folder targa. Is this what you are referring to?

These are the folders that show when pluggin in.

Maps
Targa
and two other icons.

Also: Where i have extracted all the files - i.e. IGO8 and the Teleatlas maps - they are now all in the same folder.
Showing:
FTR
IGO8
MAP
Poi

I have added one map where you suggested. Within IGO8 > content > map

Which folder/application do i rename?

When i copy over the file - is it only the IGo8 folder i transfer over - not the FTR / MAPS / POI?

Rename iGO8\iGO8.exe to Targa\Traveller.exe

Delete the Targa folder (Make sure you have a backup) on the device, Copy the new Targa folder to the device.

Ignore the other folders for now.

Hi,

I had started reading that. But a little confused.

- as i am not using an SD card - does all the same still apply as on that thread.

And also:
You must have a file called iGO.exe. If there is a file called application.dat, rename it into iGO.exe
i renamed the IGO.exe file to "traveller" // It says rename it into IGO ( do i rename it Traveller?)

the .exe is auto - i shouldn't have to do that right?

So based on changing names etc:
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
Do i change any names here or leave as IGO8???

Within the file sys.txt there is this text...

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

Change it to...

;[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

And save the file.

Application.dat refers to certain builds of iGO, Ignore it.

Really appreciate your help btw. I was going to say it at the end / but it is warranted even now and earlier /p.s. a donation to this site is a must!

Now it has a screen saver iGO in the background.
With a dialogue box in the middle of the screen saying: "Application Traveller.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down"

A the bottom footer of the screen it looks like a windows application ( Start, and then 2 Tabs: iGO8, the other is pushed in "Appl ( prob the dialogue box that is open), then the time to the right of the screen.

If i push the iGO8 8 Tab - the windows type buttons disappear leaving me with the screen saver in the background.

If there is a save folder present in the iGO8 folder ON THE DEVICE then delete it and restart your device

I get the same error after deleting that file.

When i press the "x" on the dialogue box - it disappears - leaving me with a computer type screen.

Is the computer screen normal?

That is just the underlying Windows CE desktop, Normally it is hidden behind the GPS app, It's just a cut-down version of Windows on your PC...

I'll look into the error and get back to you...
