According to the manual, This is a MobileNavigator type device, Usually with these devices simply replacing the MobileNavigator folder with either another navigation app or an unlock shell is all you need to do.

The manual states it has WinCE 5, 64MB, 4.3Inch screen (Poss 480x272, but doesn't say) so Tomtom Navigator 7 or iGO Primo should work ok.

The GPS port and baud settings for MobileNavigator devices are usually Com7 and Baud 57600.

However the manual says it connects to the PC as USB mass storage which WinCE doesn't do natively, so you may run into connectivity issues if the USB drivers are part of the original application.

What i would do is...

1, Hard reset the device.
2, Connect to PC, On your PC turn on Show Hidden/System files then copy everything on the device to a folder on your PC.
3, On your device rename the folder MobileNavigator to MobileNavigator2.
4, Download this 2437 and extract/copy the folder to the device.
5, Restart the device.
6, Tap Navigation.
7, If all is well you should be looking at Total Commander, which is a file explorer.

If you can connect to your PC ok then you can safely unlock your device, But if not then use the file explorer to rename the new MobileNavigator folder to something else and MobileNavigator2 back to MobileNavigator, This will put your device back to as it was.

Obviously you do this at your own risk...

List step by step what you've done so far...

Tomtom and Garmin rely on files within the Windows directory so don't work on every device, Both programmes need to be installed in a certain way or will fail.

Lastly, what are you trying to achieve, A conversion to a PDA or just wanting to run another nav app?

what i am trying to achieve is just another nav which i can update map every year!!

now what i did so far is:
1. backup the mass drive in my computer
2. i found this2446 in a foreign web which is bring me to desktop, i attached just in case anybody else is looking for it.

3. i tried to install tom tom 7 fixed, its says its not compatible. i tried another version of tomtom 7 its go upto voice, when i select uk english its shows there is no voice in disk and continue button, i pressed "continue" but its hang there forever. nothing happen after that. i tried from SD DISK and MASS MEMORY both. same thing happen.

please let me know if i need to change anything from reg. what i need to do is put the tomtom navigation.EXE to my MobileNavigation folder so i can rename that to MobileNavigator.exe to lunch it from the TARGA menu.

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?3816-Map-enquire

This thread is a guide to install Tomtom on another "MobileNavigator" type device.

Read through the guide first, Just rename the Navigator folder to MobileNavigator and TomTom Navigator.exe to MobileNavigator.exe, Them place the folder on to your device, You shouldn't need to edit any existing files or the registry.

It would be easier to install on to a memory card, but will work on internal memory if there's enough space.

i dont know by root you mean in c folder or not? i can see 4 drive in my navigator when i connected with WMD, they
\
PocketMory
SDMMC Disk
User

user is the internal folder which is accesseble without the WMD, and there is MobileNavigator folder. There is a folder in PocketMory drive called shall and in there there is Taushell.exe and app_setup.cfg and fmconfigzone.cfg .

i also want to add that, i tried to put garmmin xt in sd card and setup and its setuped and can find my attached gps server. but cant find any map and calculate any route. does it mean its compitable with GARMIN not TOMTOM?

Where the MobileNavigator folder is.

Garmin needs to be activated with a keygen before it works.

Tomtom needs to have the map patched before it works.

So just copying files across and running the exe's will result in failure.

If you just want to run another GPS application NO UNLOCK IS NECESSARY.

You just need to replace the MobileNavigator folder and leave everything else, I've downloaded the unlock you posted to have a look and see what it's changed on your device.

The unlock you posted is just a Mortscript to kill the device shell and allows it to continue booting to a desktop.

Add the line...

Run ("\SDMMC\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe")

to the MobileNavigator.mscr file with Notepad.

Make sure the path is correct.

okay, now i know how MobileNavigator.mscr works. now i can start that exe without going in to desktop. i transfer the navigator folder in my user drive which is internal drive not the sdmmc.

now i can see the hand logo and then its gives me a error saying "Votre appareil n'est pas compatible avec Tom Tom NAVIGATOR", Is that because i dont have a map unlocked?
