Hello all,
I am wondering if someone can help me with my sat nav system and installing some new maps onto the device.
I have unlocked the Sat Nav already and have a handy interface on my 2GB SD card that allows a good looking GUI to select many different map systems.
The unit is running Windows 4.2CE with 64MB RAM.
I would like a different map interface that allows me to get the most up-to-date maps and that are likely to be updatable as well for the forseeable future.
If I could have that and some detailed instructions on how to do it then I would be a very happy camper.
Regards
Michael

This version of iGO Primo is from my WinCE 4.2 64MB device, It's built for a screen resolution of 320x240 though, but can be easily converted, I don't know what your device's resolution is.

Not quite the latest version but it's stable and works very well, plus it already has the WinCE 4.2 TTS Dll's installed.

and how do I get it onto my Sat Nav once it has downloaded, is it just a cut and paste job onto the SD card or is there other stages involved (((this is the bit that confuses me particularly)))

Download, extract and place Primo folder onto your storage card, download ONE map to start with and copy to map folder (\{card}\Primo\Content\Map\*.fbl)
Configure your unlock shell to run iGO.exe
You will need to make some edits to sys.txt to match your device, we'll go through those later.

I downloads one Igo8.3 Map for the UK as don't need any others.
I have set shell to run the IGO application and now I just need to edit the sys.txt. From what I understand you have to alter the baud rate and port but is there anything else at all?

Depending on your device resolution, You may need to edit the resolution entries in sys.txt and replace the data.zip. My device was 320x240.

The resolution is fine. I have the screen up with the map visible but I keep getting the "Autodetecting GPS receiver" message continually and nothing else

Edit the port and baud settings to match your device in sys.txt

I have already done that so did a quick search on the forum to help with locating satellites for Becker and came up with this one
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?5375-Autodetecting-GPS-receiver../page4&highlight=AutodetectingIt helped immesnely except I jusst cut the whole Becker program off the Windows memory and pasted it to my desktop and then turned the Sat Nav back on, reset it and then I had the GPS working. Seems like the Becker program was getting to the Satellites first and then creating somekind of conflict.
So now I have the IGO8.3 Q4 2010 maps on my Windows CE 4.2 device...muchly happy!!!
And thank you very much for all your help!!!
