Binatone B350 Installing iGo Primo 1.1 UK & ROI Navteq 2012

Postby mikkybgs » Mon May 06, 2013 4:46 pm

Hi!

I'm new here so please go easy one me...

I recently bought a Binatone B350. Seems alright, but the maps are hideously outdated and keep leading me in wrong directions.

On my hunt to update the maps/software I came across this forum and have downloaded iGo Primo 1.1 UK & ROI Navteq 2012 q2 in a .rar file.

I have now loaded it on to a SD card but I have no idea how you get it to run iGo primo instead of the basic software and maps.

I have looked in the TUTORIALS section for loading iGo onto a Wine CE based machine but it doesnt actually say HOW to get it working, just how to download it.

If anyone knows please could you help me?
Supposed to be driving to ROI tomorrow and could be straying off the trail if I don't get this sorted!

Thanks,
Michael

I have put the iGo program (DRIVE.exe) into a folder called MobileNavigator and renamed it MobileNavigator.exe

I also created a notepad file SHELL.ini and pasted in:
\SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe

I turn on the device, let it power up, and then insert the SD card.
Then I turn it off and reboot it.
And still the wretched old software loads up.....HELP PLEASE!

Are you using a normal SD card (2GB or less) or a SDHC card (over 2GB)?

Was using a 1gb SD card.

I solved the problem, or at least diverted around it anyway. Went back to your post 'Guide to Binatone devices' and started again.

Got it all up and running and am about to head off the the ROI with it.

Thanks for the help!

No problem, Did you read the part about the memory fix?

Otherwise, happy navigating :)

Hi did see the part about the memory fix, and I had downloaded that too but I'm not sure what it does or if I needed it?

Good news though, it got me here in great time and worked a charm!
Thanks

Sounds like you don't need it, on wince devices there is a memory split, 64mb = 32mb ram and 32mb temporary storage, we don't need temporary storage, so it adjusts the split to give the full amount of ram, sometimes this is already set.

Hi,
Back from the Ireland jaunt now. Thanks for getting back to me about the memory split. Seems I probably don't need it. I used it every day and had no problems.

Thanks again for your help. The Sat-nav really helped me out.

You would have ran into problems by now if you needed the memory fix, otherwise thanks for the update :)
