binatone c350 carrera not jsbhello what could it be?

Postby meadyyyy » Thu Aug 22, 2013 6:13 pm

hiya all

came accross this binatone on car boot, got it cause it were cheap, anyway when launch gps prog it starts but when tap
anything it crashes, seems to be running igo pna. connected to usb and it shows as mass storage 798mb, on it is igo
folder and exe pile in it is igopna, in skin folder is a binatone skin, didnt think igo had anything to do with binatone???

anyway, tried all shells and nothing works, you can see them trying to run but dissapear behind front end, tried all usual
renaming (mobilenavigator to igo and exe file mscr to igopna)
universal shell goes through the 1st 2 countdown screen then unit restarts and same again

any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

Not all binatone's had turbodog installed, some had smart2go. I never heard of any coming with igo though.

Does it run igo directly, or is there a mortscript launcher involved?

Secondly, try running a tool like resinfo to get a list of running processes, you may need toolhelp.dll for this, these will be in universal shell.

You can kill processes from resinfo, so it should be easy to work out what needs to be done.

ok
gps button seems to lead to IGO folder and executes IGOPNA (after loading it crashes/re-starts when cockpit, map etc tapped), cant find any mortscript, folder structure in igo folder is same as igo (well, pretty close)

got resinfo to run and what was running was "CentralAP" "MSI Executor"

tried easyshell3.5 changing kill jsbhello to kill CentralAP and it seemed to work

then tried universal shell and put kill "centralap" in userdata bootautorun, crashed and restart after second countdown screen.

tried universalshell again but this time adding kill "CentralAP" to the 1st line of start.mscr, and also to the first line of MobileNavigator.mscr also included toolhelp.dll in both folders as precaution
changed names of MobileNavigator to IGO and IGOPNA respectively

and it runs, YIPEE:dance_mini::dance_mini::dance_mini::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

also, igo that on unit also runs, if i tap on "About" in igo main screen it shows "Binatone" logo, underneath "Binatone Navigation May 9 2008, underneat that 2006 Nav N Go Ltd, all nav n go info there inc eula, in credits it says binatone navigation by nav n go kft etc

either someone has gone to alot of trouble or its genuine

all in all, seems to be sorted and running

many thanks FBF for the prod in right direction

i recon thread can be closed

Binatone rebrand the navigation Binatone Navigation, on some devices it was known as Smart2Go, I suppose it's possible this was an early version of iGO?

I will close this thread later...

Its genunine with early IGO, had this device too.

If you keep the folder name and exe name other GPS programs will also work, except Garmin.
Primo would be possible with a minor set of options like dem, poi, ... and 1 or 2 maps as the device RAM is very small.
You might flash Voxtel firmware which will offer a little more RAM but there are 2 versions. with the wrong one it wouldn't boot properly but can be flashed back.
