Yes in the shell.ini i put SDMMC\Universal Shell\start.exe. The only other thing i did was to type: Kill ("\Windows\JBSHello.exe") in the BootAutorun.mscr

How i configured US on my Binatone was to Kill JBSHello.exe (As you've done), And set the exit application to \Windows\JBSHello.exe

What happens when you exit, is there is no active screen to fall back to (Because you killed JBSHello.exe) So the last screen image (US) stays in view, but as the app has closed the screen is unresponsive, When JBSHello.exe is set as the exit app, The devices original menu reappears.

Did you set the Binatone navigator to autostart within the US settings?

If not...
Connect your device to your PC and rename \ResidentFlash\MobileNavigator (Folder) to \ResidentFlash\MobileNavigator2
That 'should' stop the original application loading. You should be able to set it up to start from button one.

Great. I changed the MobileNavigator folder and so now it goes straight into US :-)

Within US, Settings\Advanced Settings\Change Application Buttons\Exit Application

Navigate to \Windows\JBSHello.exe

Now when you exit US the original shell reappears

In the end I found and installed the items that had been corrupted, ending up with just something to suit my XCSoar app.
So no luck with an SD image.
