Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

If the mapshare files are copied from another device then AutoActivate uses those for the device ID instead of your TTNavigator.bif

Here you go... [Please Register or Login to download file]

Remove everything to do with your current version of Tomtom, (Make a backup first) there may be files on the internal flash drive.
Extract the archive above, Password: navitotal
Copy the navigator folder, the map folder and AutoActivate.exe to your SD card using a card reader.
Put SD card into satnav
Run Tomtom which will say map activation error (in French)
Remove SD card and put back into PC card reader
Run AutoActivate.exe
Put SD card back into satnav
Run Tomtom again
Language is on page6 of the preferences menu, flags icon
GPS settings are usually Other NMEA receiver, Baud 57600 and COM:7
This version of Tomtom will crash with an out of memory error
Restart Tomtom
You may have to configure the GPS settings again
Setup how you like
Exit Tomtom (Page 3, main menu) to save your settings.

nothing loads , if i clear the memory card , then copy the navigation folder , map folder & autoactivate when i boot up the satnav it just kicks straight into the Binatone software and doesnt recognise the SD card ??

Sorry i thought you had an unlock of some sort on your device.

Rename the Navigator folder to MobileNavigator (Note Capital M and N)
Rename Tomtom Navigator.exe to MobileNavigator.exe
Open Notepad on your PC and type...
\SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe
Save it as SHELL.ini (NOT SHELL.ini.txt) and copy to the root of your SD card.

Thanks

i am not sure whats caused the change but when i run autoactivate its now taking about a 1/4 of the time to run as it was and its not creating a " list " of files like it was before ?

I have no idea what's going wrong here, Try FastActivate instead.

Nice to know its not just me lol , to get my device to recognise the SD card i had to load back on some of the files that were already on there , so basically all i have changed is the " MobileNavigator " folder , the map folder & i have changed the data in the " SHELL " folder ( mine was originally { shell } and had some different data in . If i just load the MobileNavigator , SHELL , MAP & autoactivate it just skips straight to the Binatone software , do you want me to PM you a screen dump of what files are on the card or will that not help ?

Wed Mar 09, 2011 10:36 am

Ok, But turn on "Show hidden/system files" on your pc first.

just a thought i have tom tom on my binatone when you put your files back on the card did you copy explorer.exe accross from your computer then it will over run your binatone software and on updating your map mine has never been able to update so when i need a new map i just do a fresh install

Wed Mar 09, 2011 11:53 am

Yes its on there , i am trying to upload a screen dump of whats on my SD card but not having much joy as yet ! What maps are you currently running on and what Navcore are you using ?
