Hi everyone..............I have a problem with my Binatone A430 sat nav...............Basically all the maps are out of date. I've heard that the system will run tom tom and other software but i need an idiots guide how to do this ....if its possible at all...................THANKS in anticipation .....:pray::pray:

Did you use the search function? This question pops up over and over again from time to time.
You need to be sure what OS is on the device first, because TT won't work under WindowsCE6. Then iGO or Primo is a good alternative. (also when the OS is CE5)

okay ..........................how do i establish what version it is ......................and please remember it'll have to be idiot proof for me ........
THANKS again in anticipation:unknw_mini:

The A430 is an older device so i'm sure it was WinCE5, The procedure to install other software is the same for all Binatones, Do i really need to write another guide?

Thu Jun 23, 2011 10:21 am

According to the User Manual, it is WinCE 5.

Download these four files...

Tomtom Navigator 7.450
AutoActivate

Download your required maps

Extract everything and arrange onto the SD card like this...

[b]E:\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe + other files/folders.
E:\AutoActivate.exe
E:\ZIP\{The two postcode files for your area, ONLY if you need them}
E:\{Map Folder}\Cline.dat + other files.

Open Notepad on your PC and type...
\SDMMC\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe
Save as SHELL.ini NOT SHELL.ini.txt <- Double check this!

Copy to the SD card as well...

E:\SHELL.ini

Reboot your device and tap OK then Navigation.
Tomtom will start and complain about map activation error. (In French)
Put SD card back into PC card reader and run AutoActivate.exe
Wait until it reports it has finished and then copy everything back, Overwriting where necessary.

Tap Navigation again...

Report back...

Language = Flag icon on page 6 of settings

Links ti files don't seem to work

Wed Jun 27, 2012 12:44 pm

Hi,
I have tried following the links to these four files and only the first TT links takes you anywhere.
The others just bounce you back to the forum again.

Does anyone know if autoactivate and the postcode files can be found either elsewhere on this site or on another ?

So far I have got my binatone to report back to me that it can't find a map (in french), so I guess I need to activate and load (or vice versa)

Any help would be greatly apprecaited.
