Also, PDA build do have a folder called "2577" that is used for auto install IGO to memory. So be sure that folder isn't there.
I am not familiar with your device, but you are right. IGO won't auto start. Not this way. You need a shortcut to igo.exe. What do you see in the settings menu?

Try using a 2GB card and rename the NEW iGO software to match the OLD iGO on the original card, According to the upgrade guide it should be...

Remove the contents of the folder where the igo6 is located and replace it by the contents of the igo8 folder. Make sure that the igo8 exetutable (igo.exe) has the same name as the igo6 executable (sometimes is called navigator.exe, mobilenavigator.exe, ...)This way you simply start you navigation as you did it before.
