Navigo V2

Navigo V2

Postby steadyeddie » Tue Apr 01, 2014 12:23 pm

Hi all
I have just obtained a unit which I believe to be a Navigo V2. It already has some form of TomTom software on it, I'm not sure which version, and the maps are very out of date.
So my question is, can I update it and if so, could somebody tell me how, or point me in the right direction, bearing in mind I have no idea what I'm doing!
Thanks
Jeff

What version of TomTom is already on it, it will be either Navigator 6.xxx or Navigator 7.xxx

You can't update version 6 but you can update version 7.

The application is as high as it can go already, but you can update the maps easily, if they're on the sd card there's no need to connect the device to the pc.

What map regions do you want to cover? UK, Europe etc

You will need to download UK and ROI 920.5627 from this thread...

maps-v9xx-f179/all-maps-920-xxxx-t14735.html

You will also need the latest zip files and the latest FastActivate from the same thread.

Download and extract everything then post back

Having a few problems here.
When you say 'the latest zip files' I take it you mean the postcode files? If so, the file doesnt seem to exist anymore, the same with the FastActivate file.
Thanks for your help so far

Fatboyfun, I have managed to obtain all the files and have extracted them all to a folder on my desktop.

First thing to do its make a full backup of the sd card, including any hidden and system files that your pc might hide.

Then look at the existing file structure, you will see the map folder, and a zip folder.
You need to replace the map folder with the newly downloaded map folder.
NOTE it is important that you copy the folder that contains the map files, and NOT a folder that contains another folder which contains map files, look at the original map folder for an example.

Then replace the CONTENTS of the zip folder with the contents of the new zip folder, you will only need the two GB files for UK maps.

Next copy FastActivate.exe to the map folder and run it on your pc.

Select the option to patch maps only.

Once complete you can insert the card into the device and boot it.

If you can see the map display, and search seven digit postcodes it's worked.

Next we'll add speed cameras...
