To get up to date maps on Navman devices, You have to change the software...

As the Navman S30 only has 32MB of memory, iGO 8 is the preferred choice, Sometimes Tomtom Navigator works if you're lucky while Primo has no chance

Use the unlock from here...

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8169-Run-iGO-Primo-2.0-on-Mio-Moov-and-Navman-S-series-(and-some-F-series)-in-ten-steps.

Substitute iGO 8 for Primo, put iGO on an sd card and set up a shortcut from the desktop

I would ONLY use iGO8 for WinCE on your device. TomTom is not recommended.

Please tell us what is the exact error message that you're getting. Just the database not found? Your device cannot find the path to the program. You need to make an edit.

It is very important that you back up your device's files/folders first just in case. This way if something goes wrong, you have the information to get your device working again. The device right now cannot find the correct path to the iGO8 program. You need to make an edit. Unfortunately, I don't have your device in front of me so you'll have to do the work.

The message means : the file "f:\desktop\smartst.ink" (which is a shortcut) cannot be created because the specified path is not correct. What is the "f:\" drive? And is there a folder called "desktop" on it?

Do you get the error when you click install desktop or on connection?

Was anything done to the device before you tried to unlock it?
