Ok kool. Sorlved the hardware problem. But I have taken away the navigation folder from murtys and put my original one in and it came up with cant find system. Or are there bits in his folder I have to change with mine one? Bit confused on the match exactly thing?

Make sure the new iGO folder and executable match the original iGO folder and executable exactly!

ie, rename them...

Hey FBF,

I've tried as you said and it still won't load any maps. Would you by any chance be able to download my card contents from my dropbox link and set it the way you recommend in case I am doing something backward? I know that sounds lazy but I've tried literally everything that you have recommended and still I can't get a map to load.

As you rightly said, Murty's gave a HardwareID error on my card, and loading his unitedkingdom.fbl to my card comes back with a "map locked" message so I can't use that either. I'd be happy to use any version of iGO even without sound, I don't really mind, but I'm very close to giving up and just buying a new headunit without all this pfaffing!

Ok I will try to find some time to look at it later, a combination of early morning starts and the wife's constant desire to go shopping, equals no time for me!

I know the feeling - my bad is working in a secure environment so I get limited web access. I'd really appreciate it man, I'll send you a bottle of your favourite tipple or something!!

Wed Mar 20, 2013 1:04 pm

Not a gov/mod site specifically, but I do have to be security cleared!

hiya just received a new sd card with igo 8 with European maps but my headunit is not reading the card does that mean my headunit is broken now?

Fri Mar 22, 2013 4:07 pm

you may need to set the path up in the settings..

Fri Mar 22, 2013 4:16 pm

right ok where is the settings? on the headunit?

Fri Mar 22, 2013 4:19 pm

Hi Pedro,

I never managed to get an SD Card from Halfords when they were still selling them, but as far as I understand it, they need your license code from your headunit before they sell you a replacement card. I think to put in a brand new card might need tweaked as Plonker suggests, although the Navsure software on the headunit doesn't allow you to set up setting like file paths and such.

First make a back up of your new card fully, and then try renaming your igo8.exe to navigation.exe. For comparison to where the files are supposed to go, nip back through this thread and download my sd card from the dropbox link - that card does work, only the maps won't load, but the application loads fine so at least you will be able to see the software running if iGo8 is going to work from a new card at all. I think you need a folder called Navigation with Navigation.exe inside of it as far as starting the software on the device goes.

FBF might pipe in with something more concrete but its worth a start.

should be.depends on what unit you have i guess.
i have a million g2217, when i press the navi button it goes to a load page
there are a few buttons, one is Navigator, that is a big one, then next to it there is one that says settings, if you press this it will go to a path selction bit, just set the path to igo8, igo8.exe then ok
it should then load.
other than that i cant help you, you will have to find someone with the same unit as you and ask them.

right it started to load it now did a bit then an error came up saying some database error

Fri Mar 22, 2013 4:51 pm

If it's "Application database can't be found" then you need to tweak the sys.txt a bit...

But you've got it to start, that's the hard bit done.
