Just check the IGO section and download the latest IGO or Primo version.
Add the map of your choice and enjoy.
Since you already got IGO on your device it is as simple as overwriting the existing files and adding a map.
Please make a full backup before you start!
If you use other software than IGO you will to adjust the path to the navigation software in the settings of your device.

Before going deeper into changing maps etc, can you not contact the reseller and change the maps? Normal way would be that you could choose the maps when buying, this could be an error the reseller needs to correct.

If not, depending on the license and software version, placing US maps on your device could be as easy as downloading and copying them or a less easy because you have to replace the complete program. Maybe replacing the exe and license files could be enough as well. So we need more info.
1. is the software on an sd or in devices memory and can you explore it?
2. can you tell what iGO build? (menu-about)
3. can you look in the license folder and see what license?

It's to early to tell but just in case you need to replace the program: It's best to install iGO on a SD card, so keep the original sd in a safe place (if it is no use for you, it could be for someone else) and purchase a fresh one. Make a note of the path of the original program. Example : the original place where iGO is located on sd can be iGO\iGO.exe but also MobileNavigator/MobileNavigator.exe. On the new sd the folder and program.exe should have the exact same name. When your device has a customizable GPS/Navigation button, you must point it to the new location, so you should know how your device calls the sd.

thanks for the replies. When I purchased the GPS I was under the impression that I would get the unit with a USA map since I was ordering it from the USA to a USA address and I would imagined that since they deal with others countries that those countries would also get maps from the area whaic they were order, anyway I did what you told me and asked the reseller, and they said the maps were the customer responsibility, that the maps loaded in the GPS were for testing purpose to show that it work, so I could see that I wasted my money with this company, the info on the GPS is a 7" touchscreen GPS navigation with FM receiver, and bluetooth and win ce with a mini sd card, hope this is helpful

@kuky

There is an old joke about someone that "assumes." It makes an "ass of you and me." Therefore never assume [in your case "impression"] but get all the facts. Nabi told you all that you have to do. Right now, you have a genuine iGO program on your SD card. Put the SD card somewhere in a safe place and get a new card. A 4GB SDHC card should be fine plus their cost isn't too bad at all. Then once you have gathered all the information that is requested in the above post you will need an unlock plus you need to d/l and install the appropriate cracked program in order to use the maps here. BTW, what is the name of your device and can you give us a link to its specifications?

No, you didn't make an ass of yourself. That's only an expression for someone who assumes. I believe your device is a 2DIN so read this http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?909-Double-din-2Din-GPS-How-to-install-thread BTW, what's the name of your device?
