Restarted it- same....
if I "configure" to COM5- no signal at all
will pop outside again- try to move bound little- will post back in 5

Where the cicle rotates is the correct com port, just play around with the baud rate, try 57600 first, If you see grey or blue bars on the gps status screen then it's receiving gps data, it can take several minutes to get the first lock, and be aware of the first lock crash.

Primo will work as well, You can install a shell and have several satnav programmes if you wanted to.

I was close to give up myself... blaming all sorts, but damn mingy SD card...
thinking about "revenge" and cutting/else destroying bugger! or even worse- passing it over to some nemesis to "enjoy" :evil:

The latest iGO Primo will work with R3(8.3) maps, But before you rush in you will need to know your screen resolution and baud rate/com port (same as Tomtom) and enter them into a text file (sys.txt)

400x272 and weird 372nhz CPU, but iGo Primo- not that good- no post code search : thumbsdown: esthetically it is better looking, but heck, so is TurboDog unpractical and useless.
TT is just better! if anything might be worth giving a bit of bling adding custom bits- bigger maps, but after getting back to it after few years- just lofe it! and MyGuide, that I loathed for few month seems like decent hardware. (apart from stupendous speaker at the back of a unit- can hear-only if you listen to it)

Primo does do postcode sesrch, type it in the city box in this format, AA11 1AA, Note the space.

The WinCE version of Tomtom will do speedcams, voices, mapshare (with hack) but not advanced map features like tts, alg etc

(I mean, I use it daily in UK, but also as need to for occasional trips to Europe)

You can use any of the voices/speedcams in the Tomtom section, Some of the premium voices/speedcams need patching, use autoactivate in the same way you patched your map.

I would keep a uk map AND a europe map on the unit and "switch maps" to europe when i needed to.

EDIT: Forgot to say, Backup your SD Card before "playing", Just in case...

I meant, that I downloaded bigger maps- tried to install and all so sudden- nothing due to the fact of .bif and some other file missing...
had to redo all back with small 1gb maps...- she's back on now!

OK... have enjoyed TT for a while and it stopped finding signal. Got another SD(4gb) card, copied navigator, activator and newly dl'ed

started up, but no maps (in French), copied .bif and meta from old (1gb) maps- same...
Despite some pic saying, that it should work.
Fatboyfun- which build maps do you think would work again please? (needed UK, we and Central EU) to be good ones?
