reflashed binatone carrera x430 into voxtel carrera x430

hi guys just thought i tell you this...been trying to get igo primo working on a binatone x430

the x430,after several hours of searching and with a big help from fatboyfun (thanks bud) i managed to get
a x430 rom and details,followed the details and started reflashing after 10 mins or so it rebooted itself
and nothing came on screen so then i found another x430 rom and flashed that another 10 mins
or so, it rebooted and the menu was in german,so i found another rom flashed that,rebooted then it
came up voxtel carrera ?? and not binatone carrera anyway went into the menu and it was in
russian ffs lol,but i read that you can change language,changed it no problem,everything in english
now woohoo no nand flash img on (not really bothered),managed to get easy shell installed,gonna try again to install primo 1.2 but this time along with easy shell,and hopefully tomtom

for those who want to change f/ware on a binatone carrera x430

To be used if your device only shows boot screen with sandclock

Unpack the ROM to an empty SD card
Insert into device
Switch off your device with the slide switch
Press sleep button and hold
Switch on the slide switch
After approx 20 sec. release the sleep button
Flashing should start
Takes approx. 5-10 minutes.

Sorry to bother you with my n00b questions, but I am totally unaware of the world of WinCE devices. I don't even know the resolution of my device.

I am from India & I have a Voxtel X430 device that came with the used car that I bought 2 years ago. Due to some issue or the other, I was not able to use it much. Around a month ago, I rediscovered it in my closet and tried to upgrade the maps. The previous owner had given me links for 2 free map upgrades but those links have now expired. New map upgrades from Satguide are 1000 bucks.

So I searched around & found that I could unlock my device and run a different and better software on it with better maps and I ended up flashing my X430 into a X430 Carrera (I just love that word!!). Now I have a blank GPS device that turns on and comes up to the screen where it shows 2 options - Settings & Navigation.

How do I go forward from here? What software will be best suited for a country like India? What other stuff can I do with my device and how?

Thanks fatboyfun!! After I posted in this thread, I found the one that you have mentioned and now I have iGo 8 running on my X430.

Yet to check in the vehicle...but should work fine. Thanks again!!

Hello, my name is John. I own a Binatone X430 UK & ROI model version 2. My gps was stuck in the Warning screen and even if I press the OK button, nothing happens. Is there by any chance you've got that working ROM still in your hands. I have found 1 ROM in Russian language, but while trying to load it on my X430 gps unit, with the method you describe at the beginning of this topic, the screen instead of start uploading the new firmware it stays black like forever. For that I used an 8GB SD CARD. Then it flashed in my mind that maybe this gps unit does not recognize above 2GB SD CARDS, so I tried the russian ROM again with a 2GB SD CARD and it worked....So the update process started and after about 10-15 minutes it finished and the gps restarted now in russian language but again it stucks on the Warning screen and if I press the OK button nothing happens (that was the original problem of my gps before I flashed the new firmware). Please reply to me if you have anything to recommend or to send me any other working ROM. Thanks in advance.

This won't be the ROM, the gps software is broken, it's a common problem. You'll have to install iGO instead, it's not a difficult job to do...
