Schirocoo double din

Postby skakooli2 » Sun Mar 18, 2012 10:02 pm

Hi,
My name is Shakhar, and i'm new in this great forum.
i bought last week a double din system which it's brand is "Schirocco".
I bought it from local seller in Israel, and didn't found it in Ebay.
There is 2 slots for sd cards - one for GPS and one for other media files.
I bought new 2gb sd card, and tried to put Igo8 on it.
But when I click on the Nav icon in the system menu, it shows "invalid".
I can't change the GPS path (maybe i can but i don't know how).
In the setup settings I have only the Audio/Vidreo settings.
I don't know which OS this system runs.
on the box it's written:
Schirocco polo-S500
Schirocco OSAKA JAPAN.
Any help?
Thanks, Shakhar.

You have to check what filename and folder is used by default and adjust the installation on the SD accordingly.
Other options are creating a shortcut on the (unlocked) desktop or to use a menu programm what is startet when you press the Navi button, from the menu you can then start your programs.
There is info on all ways in the forum.

Thank you for the fast reply.
This is what i'm searching... i don't know which file the navi icon needs.
Anyway i found another name to this system it's Motevo GTV-X1.
And they have customer support, i emailed them and they told me that this system runs WINCE 6.
The problem is that i can't run any executable files from the menu because i don't know the navigation software path, and i can't change it. ( i don't have the navigation software setup at all).
I can't unlock this system because i can't run any executable files.
Thanks, Shakhar.

According to specs I have seen for "Motevo GTV-X1" (if indeed it is the same as yours), the original Nav software comes on an SD card.
Yours did not come with this card pre-installed/setup?

I have also seen descriptions that indicate that this external box is required for GPS operation:

Did you also get this?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

You are right. But the seller told me that this system came in 2 versions one with GPS and the other without GPS.
i took the Non GPS system, but in my system there is a slot to gps sd card (it is written below the slot - sd card GPS), so I think that the seller simply doesn't know how to operate the GPS function and i think that there is an option to operate it but i don't know how.
In addition, i can't see the navigation path, if i could see it i would install mio pocket and than it was much more easy to operate the GPS function.
Thanks, Shakhar.

If there are two versions and you take the non GPS version than it is likely that nt only the external antenna is missing but also the hardware inside.
What exactly would be the point of installing a GPS software on device that has no GPS capabilities?
A CE emulator on your PC would be easier to use and do exactly the same thing.
In a worse case you have a slot for the GPS SD but it is not connected.

Agree with Downunder 100%. Exactly what I was thinking. We cannot, of course know what the seller "knows" or doesn't regarding the units they sell, and it depends on the definition of what "With" and "Without" GPS is...does it only mean with GPS software or not, or actual hardware differences?
If it's hardware, you may have an SD slot that goes nowhere.

In any case, you might want to think very carefully about running Mio-Pocket on a DIN device. It was never intended for that purpose and because of the way Mio-Pocket operates at the Windows Registry level, you could end up with an in-dash device that runs NAV software (maybe), but nothing else.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

I want to be able to approach the WINCE directories and see the nana flash content but i can't because i can't run any executable file.
I tried to connect to the din device using my PC through Bluetooth but the max i get is to output the sound of the computer to the car speakers.
Any one know any way that i can access the nand flash?
