sony nv -u50

Postby cat5230 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 9:56 am

Hi,

A while ago I did a successful transition of a sony nv -u70 from the original software to igo 8.3.
Now I want to do the same to a nv -u50 model but I don't know if it fits a nv -u50?
Did some searches but the model is so old that I can't find allot regarding it and i dont think I still have got the unlock software.. (forgot the name aaah)
Or maybe its possible to update the maps (original maps are from navigon??) ?

Update 2:
Found unlock software by googleing u50unlock.rar

So far I managed to get an igo8 startup screen which say init or so but then the sony image reappears and the device does nothing..
EDITED sys.txt to
Code: Select all
[folders]
app="Mounted Volume/iGO8"

Could not find any crash.txt in the igo folder.. so i'm kinda lost (again)

Update 3:

Found a new unlock and iGO8 rar file (mounted Volume.rar)
This has a different startscript which copies files into wince ..
Also a pretty up to date version of iGO8
Tested it and it runs :) And now downloading new maps and voices..
Not sure to use a dem file?

We don't support iGO builds not downloaded from this site.

Sporty, I have a big problem with you.
You have a Sony device and try to run Primo on it. That is clear and nothing wrong here.

BUT you are posting all over the forum. Can you at least be clear about 2 things:
1. you were posting all the time about the same device, same install
2. the problem is solved (how?) or not? And if not, what did you do so far?

And 3: please post in one thread about the same problem or question. Do not post around! :rulz:

I think you are missing the point. Nabi is NOT giving you a hard time. He is only saying that you should keep ALL your posts together in one thread because it makes them much easier to find and give you assistance. Please don't take it so personal because it's NOT meant that way at all!
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

That is your point of view.

My point is you made 12 posts in at least 3 different threads (amongst 2 dedicated to different Sony devices - which one is yours?), where the sequence is lost and the problem (Q&A) spread. You helped no one, in the least yourself, and certainly not anyone coming after you, searching for a solution.
