TARGA PNA3530 TomTom or IGO

Postby Foxylady » Sun Aug 11, 2013 5:00 pm

Evening all,
I have picked up a wince 5 device namely the targa pna 3530 for my daughter.
I am a tomtom owner myself and have approx 6 year ago installed tomtom i think maybe navigator on a wince 5 device but this might be different and i simply do not remember how to.
I am not fussy and only wanting to see if i can install either tomtom or igo it would be great.
IGO software i am an utter newbie but willing to learn, but has anyone any knowledge on how to get started and what is required to install other navigation software other than what is currently on it Sygic 2008 version 7.6 map version 7.54.
Thank you kindly

Evening from navitotal :)

This thread (post #1) contains a method of installing iGO onto your device, you should be able to substitute another application easily enough...

Hi fatboy,
I did read that but noticed it stated that the owner copied the igo folder from his new sat nav?
I do not have IGO at all so this stumped me.
What is latest navcore/maps i can use?
Sorry for what maybe dumb questions and i hate asking as you can see via my post count as i just read and get on with it thanking poster, but the igo software i am new too and this thread is confusing me slightly.
Also this unit has 2gb built in memory, can i install on that or use sd card keeping original navigation software on internal.
Which igo do i use latest one as the igo primo beta wordings are confusing me
Best wishes

Ahhh ok, For iGO go to the iGO programmes sub forum, then look for one of chas521's uploads of iGO.

Then go to the iGO map sub forum and find your required maps.

Report back once you've downloaded what you need. (Programme and maps only)

---

For TomTom, it's a bit more complicated, you will need either a Windows mobile/ce navcore 7.450 or 7.910 (7.450 is recommended) and a map that's compatible with wince/mobile according to the chart in post #1 of the official map thread, AND has a meta code posted next to the download link, also grab fastactivate.

Protip: in the TomTom tutorial sub forum I wrote a guide that explains all the above in detail.

---

I would recommend iGO as it's an easier install, and has features like tts and 3D display that TomTom for Windows lacks.

The iGO global config is just a file, not the application.

I suggest looking here...

Ok i am downloading it now :D

I have made a complete backup of the sat nav, can i delete the internal completely now copied or does it need to remain then run additional nav software via sd card.
Also the links are 2 part, but when i open each i can see they both have same named folders.
Should i still copy both files in both part links to folder i made called igo8?
As i am sure if i do the computer will want to overwrite due to same name folders.
