TomTom Maps Binatone F430

Postby Fatboyfun » Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:16 pm

Maps go in...

Removable Disk (F: ) -> MobileNavigator -> Content -> Maps

Copy the files ending in .fbl (FBL) into this folder, ignore all other files for now.

Delete the content folder from the maps folder

Since installing maps I am now receiving a message stating: "program memory is very low. You must select one task the amount of program memory,if available."

The device has froze?

Excellent, thank you. The device is charging again. I get about 10 min of use before it goes completely flat. I will be able to charge using the car today, as my friend is back from holiday.

My Binatone takes several hours to charge and doesn't last very long on batteries, I tend to have mine powered all the time.

Information about the memory error: Windows CE has a memory division, This is the difference between RAM and temporary storage, This by default is set halfway, So on a 64MB device you get 32MB RAM and 32MB temporary storage, Temporary storage isn't really necessary on a GPS device with a flash drive/SD card, Luckily the division can be adjusted either by using the WinCE Control Panel or by using a small utility.

Fix: 4111
Rename the existing MobileNavigator folder to something else and download and extract the attached archive to the card, (You are temporarily replacing the Primo application to an application that sets the memory division)
Put card into device and reboot, start the navigation as normal, A message will appear on screen when the process is complete, It only takes a second.
Remove card and delete the tool and rename the Primo folder back to MobileNavigator.

The change is permanent (But can be undone) so only needs to be done once!

The division is now set to 512KB temporary storage with the rest as RAM

Try Primo again.

Hello FBF, just to let you know the Binatone is working perfectly.

I am now working on the TomTom. I have updated the navcore, installed the latest UK, Republic of Ireland and Europe maps.

I have tried to download the latest updates for speed cams but I think the files have been deleted.

Does anybody have a link to the latest updates for the UK, Republic of Ireland and Europe?

Thank you.

Yes sorry I found it after I posted. I should have let you know. Do I need to activate them using fast activate or quick activate?

I use autoactivate as there is no need to patch the navcore anymore, although fast activate does the job just as well.

Please may I ask a couple of questions. I have downloaded updates for the cams also POI and PDI. Do the OV2 files need to be in the root of the map folder or are they okay within the sub folder?

Also I have Europe and Italy Maps on the SD card are they both okay on the same card, they won't conflict with each other?
