Trouble with Chinese GPS

Postby Fatboyfun » Sun Nov 13, 2011 7:51 pm

There should be entries in the sys.txt and some dll's in the Primo folder, I am not at home at the moment, so I can't be more specific, But I've set up TMC within primo using information from this site, so everything you need is available here.

Hopefully someone will jump in with more info otherwise I will post again later

I doubt it is the "program" since every version of iGo from 8.x and up is TMC-Capable....as long as the hardware is valid and the settings are correct.
When you say you paid extra for TMC, would this be an external TMC unit? Normally, you don't really pay extra if the TMC hardware is built into the device.

They said that the TMC port is Com1. And the GPS port is Com2. The location of GPS port I found out with an utility program here. Port 1, baud 4800.

But TMC port?

I installed again the soft that my unit came with from the factory.
Everything works fine, but TMC
In the Traffic Settings menu I have only Historical Traffic. How can I activate the other settings like in the picture?

You could help others, by simply posting the lines you mean.
Or your sys.txt.

First I checked the port number and baud rate of the TMC hardware with MixSerTester.exe
Then I put these lines in my sys.txt file.

[tmc]
port="COM,1"
baud="38400"
source="AMARYLLO"

[tmc]
auto_tuning="0"
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_AMARYLLO"
saved_config_port="1"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_last_frequency="932"
saved_last_tuning_mode="0"
