Has it always been like this, or is this a new development whereas it worked previously?

The GPS was bought on E-bay for 5$ and there were 2 units. the other one is different but has the same menu system. I thought the guy that had it was not very able in the gps department but i have tried everything to see what i can do. I tried intalling Ce desktop but the menu system loads, i get the error message and then ce appears in the bottom of the screen but the gps freezes and i am stuck.... It is a real headache. I am no noob but this is really :7:

From the seller perspective it has always been like this. but by checking the other gps unit i am guessing that the previous owner installed or deleted the gps sofware but forgot to turn off the auto feature that starts the software on boot up. (it is in the settings).

Before you do that it may be worth trying to start Total commander (or similar) by guessing what the original version of igo was called.

Rename the directory and executable of Total commander to common examples like

igo8\igo8.exe
igo 8\igo 8.exe
igo 8.exe
Mobilenavigator\mobilenavigator.exe

or anything else you can think of...
You could try them all at the same time, if you get lucky Total commander will start, then you can exit it to get access to the shell, and we can go from there...

Copy everything to a memory card and restart the device.

I do have total commander installed on my laptop. but here is the thing, in the 2g internal memory there are 1 folder called tfat hidden file or similar...and there is nothing inside. on the other gps witch is running ok it does not have this folder. tried renaming igo autorun.exe and even ce desktop to autorun but it is the d@mn menu that comes on and freezes the whole thing. you can see WinCe come on but the gps is frozen before i can touch anything. either that or the touch screen is out of alignment but i do not know how to recalibrate. the recalibrate is in the settings menu... it is the sh@ttiest menu system i have ever seen. There must be a way to get to the resident flash but sync cant get to it.

From searching the internet it would appear that the TFAT folder is the internal flash memory which has been formatted, So this means the shell is looking for the navigation app, or a config file that points to the navigation app.

Magellans seem to come up a lot when searching the internet about this problem, May be a similar device, See if the unlocking instructions help with your device by copying any unlock files to your device.

Is [Please Register or Login to download file] your device?

Rename the directory and executable of Total commander to common examples like

igo8\igo8.exe
igo 8\igo 8.exe
igo 8.exe
Mobilenavigator\mobilenavigator.exe

or anything else you can think of...

Total Commander -> 3272

Try putting the files in the TFAT folder and on a SD card

Autorun.exe rarely works

Could you help me please?
I can't get the TMC working on my car chinese GPS.

I tried many programs and different sys.txt files and lines but no results.

Please provide me a link with a working iGO with TMC for 800x480 unit.
Thanks a lot in advance

When you say "not working" what exactly do you mean?

Can iGO see the TMC hardware?
Can you scan for stations, but none are found?
Do you have TMC in the device?
Which version of iGO are you using?

I have TMC harware, because like this I ordered the unit (35$ extra).
But I can't see it.
The seller told me that it is on COM port 1.
But iGO can't see it.
I tried with iGO Primo 1.1 and 1.2.

I have some settings in sys.txt, I have the folder TMC in content.
What else do I need?
