Unlock a ViaMichellin X-970T?

Postby imaswine » Sat Sep 18, 2010 10:00 am

Does anyone know how to unlock a ViaMichellin X-970T and how to get TomTom maps working?

I have tried puting the mio unlock files on the sd card with no success, I am also having no success connecting to the unit using ActiveSync.
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried miopocket 4.0 ? I am running that on my viamichelin x 960, the way you do it is like this:

1. On the sd card create a folder and call it InstallSD
2. Place all files from mio pocket 4.0 in the folder
3. Rename the miopocket MSCR + miopocket EXE file to 'InstallSD' - (so you end up with a folder on the route of your sd card with alll the mio pocket files and 2 files called InstallSD.mscr + InstallSD.exe)
4. Hard reset your device
5. Follow instructions

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am working away now and will not be back home until around the 15th October but I will certainly try it as soon as I get back and let you know what happens.
Thanks for your reply.

I am now back and able to play with this unit again and I installed miopocket 6.3 as you kindly suggested but nothing happens when the unit reboots, it hangs at a screen telling me that there is no map on the unit. The unit is running WinCE v5.
I will have a better look at the instructions tomorrow but I believe that everything is as it should be.

Did You have any luck with your 970? I have the same problem; "no maps found on device"

i found it very easy to hack my x-960 & run iGO primo from the sd card. u can see the tutorial here.
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?4940-HOW-TO-INSTALL-iGO-PRIMO-ON-A-VIAMICHELIN-X960
since writing the tutorial i have found primo 1.1 to run better on the viamichelin than 1,2. Primo is very intuative & easy to use is much better than the viamichelin software, the only functionality thatb u may lose from the x-970 is the traffic information broadcast.
