Morning all,
Is there a way of getting latest gps fix in order to work on tomtom navigator for my Targa sat nav.

You don't need it, the data is downloaded from the satellites themselves, and it's refreshed every so often during normal use.

On Windows ce devices it may not do a lot anyway.

You've been a star to i personally and can't thank you enough.
I had the targa outside at back and ages picking no signal.
Selected 4800 baud rate and com7, put it on window ledge at front and bam, superb signals, even changing settings whilst i went further away from window, signal was their.
So no gpsfix needed :)
Well happy tomtom working on it which my daughter will love.
But your help and guidance as regards how to on IGO as been cracking and as you said i can have both if she wants.

TomTom is not really recommended for any WinCE. You would be much better off with an iGO program.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
