Chinese Nobrand Navigation system OS update

Postby shibinshaji » Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:41 pm

Hi, I am new to this site and I am looking for some help for upgrading the system software(not the map) for the car navigation device I got with my car. It is very slow to load USB and doesn't look good so I thought of upgrade. It doesn't have a proper brand(it says Royal car navigation) in system only info I have:

OS: CTCGM2515-BSP-0005-0001-0045-20111208
APP:ZiQi_05_0303_00_2011-12-02

I found some topic on this OS and all of them are either outdated or with expired links. I am looking for some installation instructions and download links for latest software. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Shibin

Shibin,
Welcome to Navitotal. I can only ASSUME that your device is WinCE and that it takes a SD card. On a new SD card copy this program to it. post107368.html#p107368 You can find the contents here maps-buildings-dem-poi-f82/ You will probably need to re-name the program's .exe to whatever your device's software has now.

Make sure you read my signature.

In general, WinCE is not updatable.

It's "baked" in ROM and if you know what you are doing you might be able to flash a new firmware (if you find a suitable one).
If something - the least will do - goes wrong, you end up with a nice paper weight.
Consider that WinCE5 is not bad, in fact as good as CE6 - which is the latest by the way. Many prefer CE5 above CE6

I tried downloading from the link in your thread , but even your new link says that it was taken down.

I also am using a Eonon unit and need a Navigation software for it. I downloaded iGo8 but when loading it in my deck it says that it was unable to launch for some reason? im thinking maybe i downloaded a wrong version? Any help would be appreciated.

Thankyou!

Hi

I have the same device (i think) .whenever i try to browse the internet it says "UNABLE TO CONNECT. PLEASE REVIEW YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS". Even though there is "3G" sign on top of the screen the internet doesnt work. The only browser app is opera mini. i tried changing protocol from socket to HTTP it shows the same.

If someone has any idea to fix this issue please tell me about it.

Thanks...

How does sys.txt look?

Is this in it?

[naviextras]
boot_service_address="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/index/1"

[network]
available=1

[tmc-http]
servers.size=1
servers[0].url="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/tmclite/data/nng-igo-tmc-iphone/0/"
enabled=1
start=1

It sounds like you haven't connected to 3G. You need to dial.

Dear friends,

I recently bought chinese made car audio system (no brand and the name says Royal car entertainment: S-HD) but I think it has outdate sofware.

System info says: APP:ZiQi_05_0303_00_2011-12-02

Can anybody help with update of this system? I followed the links above but they all dead right now.

Thank you very much

I
