Papago x8 that works well

Postby mhc » Mon Jul 16, 2012 1:44 pm

Hi,

Anyone here have a version of Papago x8 or higher ( for 480x272 ) navigation that does not hang when navigating? I have tried many but sad to say none of them is working well.

Any input is very much appreciated. Thank you for your attention.

Mine is as follow:
WinCE 5
Com1, 4800, 480x272
RAM 64K
Make: MediaTek (seen during start up)

Tested/Navigated using Galactio v8.9, Polnav and iGo Primo with no problem.
Tried using Papago One & x8 with constant hang up during navigation. Most of the time the hang up is observed during displaying of the JCV image. It consistently happen at the same junctions. Confirm with my Papago N1 (x8.5) that the maps and junctions are error free.

Hope this gives some light into the problem.

Thanks for reading/helping.

Papago need more memory to run, if you can, replace PAPAGO.dbp with others location map, so that No 3D building appear, this will work well as I found that papago need 128 RAM

Hi boonyau,

Thanks for the information. Appreciate your help.

There are 2 Papago.dbp files in the program (Base & in Regional map folder). Which one should I change and where can I get a good file for replacement?

P?S: I have replaced the Regional map .dbp file with the one from the installer.

regards,

mhc

Mhc, there no good file, what we do is replace others location map to the one we are using, Example I am using a Malaysia/Singapore Map .dbp, Therefore I get a Taiwan or Thailand .dbp to replace so that it cannot load the 3D building

boonyau,

Thank you for your information. I've cleaned up my navi.ini file by removing all unused tasks and it seems to work. The only difference I observed is the JCV is displayed very late (~100-200m) at the junction. In normal operation it should 'pop up' within 400-500m of the junction. Will continue to monitor and feedback.

Thanks for the help.

Glad to report that my WinCE 5 unit is running good with the Papago x8.5 after cleaning up the navi.ini task and changing the Papago.dbp to prevent it from loading the 3D image.

Thank you for all your help.... andyteh & boonyau...
