is it possible, using this software? do i still need to run the gps check? if so how do i run the program after downloading it?

Yes, you can use this software for your R5800 pnd, but you still need to let us know your COM and BAUD!
If you not too sure the com and baud of your device, you can use this application to test it: [Please Register or Login to download file]

Well, I downloaded and reinstalled the sound files. And bingo, the third try was lucky. It seems both previous sound files was jinxed. Probably corrupted, downloaded during heavy downpour . I nearly gave up because my China PND was a miserable 64.

My feedback:
To me, there's not much visible difference in performance other than a slight improvement in detection of satelites. As for the sounds of the new 8.5 sw the volume is much louder compared the PPGx3. The tone is more forceful and is spoken with much confidence. I am VERY very glad... and all my thanks to MONters GPS, Silicon1984 and also kcwong who gamely chipped in the last minute.

You guys are GREAT. Thanks a MILLION !!!!:grouphug:
Everytime I use the GPS, it will remind me of the efforts of guys like you in NAVITOTAL whi made the impossible "POSSIBLE" !!!

Best Regards
