chinonet wrote:Hey Monster,
I had tested the X8.5 on 2 device...
PND, SirfIV, WinCE 5.0, 64MB Ram = OK
PND, SirfV, WinCE 6.0, 64MB Ram = OK
I had tried using the original PAPAGO.DBP for both, but I had some performance and memory issues. I had also tried disabling the 3D building the application, but no success as well. Lastly I had replaced the file with the Indonesian PAPAGO.DBP.
I also had some problem with the voice for my device, but that later got solved by changing the voice from using TTS to the normal voice.
As for my Saved Favorite from M3GPS X5, I managed to recover it by copying it over to the X8.5 by renaming the file from PPGPOI17.DAT to PaPaGOPOI.DAT, and it is working fine.
My advise for those having 64MB Ram, do use the Indonesia PAPAGO.DBP file and if you plan to migrate your old saved favorite, do copy it over and rename it as above. Hopefully I won't encounter much problem with this new software for the next 1 year + or so before I can upgrade my device to a much better one.

Would it be possible for me to get a refreshed Com2 exe? The copy that I have seems to have signal instability issue. One of my PND which uses the Com2 exe had intermittent satellite signal. Even when I tested on my friend's PND running on CE 6.0 & 128MB Ram also have the same prob. Both our device are running on Com 2 Baud 4800. Pls assist. Many thanks in advance.
On another note, for those who are having delay in calculating for route, please do try these alternative:
i. delete all files in the "Base" folder
ii. get a fixed satellite signal first, then click on "Navi" to ensure your location is locked on the map, then you may proceed in searching for the intended location..
