Hi koboi,

Thanks for combination exe files!
PowerMap is based on PPG X3 with skin modified.
Where is your country? may we can help share a map.

HEGJ,
What language do you want? Original Map need upload, please wait...

mattchan2000,
Powermap Z9 is for 480x272 res.

duodenum,
Yes, we still face problem with POI mis-match for others countries map (not for Thailand map of course).
I suspect that problem come from 2 file :
1. MapAniPOI.psu==>contain all POI icon. We need to extract using PSU.handler then re-categorize icon position ei, hotel icon in school icon then change icon position. ( for more detail how to do it, go to :http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2105-TOOL-for-Modify-PSU-files).
PowerMap create different categorizing compare with M3 map)
2. BaseLangResENGL.dll====>using Resource Tuner we can change " POI Categories Name" . need compare using BaseLangResENGL.dll from X7 or X6 M3. There is effected into POI category Name ie: School but after you tap will show Market/shopping so you need to re-organize it same as M3.

ouypan,
Extract file using Winzip14 that support zipx.
And for your china GPS i-phone model, may you provide more clear and detail spec or website link.

Pooc,
Com 3 Baud 9600 :

If you cannot shown POI ison on map screen or POI search, please replace your original map file (MapAniPOI.psa and standard.mb6) using this : [Please Register or Login to download file]

Good Day all...

I have managed to get the MFM (C20100415) to work in Powermap Z9. I used the header (hdr file), MapAniPOI.psu and standard.mb6 from original Powermap Z9 and the kuf file provided by torsten.schmitz. You can get those file from [Please Register or Login to download file] .

It works great with two problems.

1) The POI is not properly categorized
2) The POI icon is wrong.

Can anyone teach me on how to change the category ID of each BMP (extracted from the PSU). I've tried to open the BMP files with HxD but can't see anything that I can understand to change it.

I've heard a few comments/ideas from some forumers on modifying the BaseLangResENGL.dll to match the category but I think it's better to manage the MapAniPOI.psu. This is because, the language file and psu file used is both from Powermap Z9 original map, I believe it's supposed to use the right category with the right wording, but somehow it's not.

That might mean that the map is expecting different kind of ID. For example, maybe 7Eleven ID that the map understand is ID 5, but the ID 5 in the psu file refers to CIMB icon. So when we see a 7Eleven POI, it shows a CIMB icon instead.

For now, maybe we should focus on changing the icon first. Categories in the Search POI can wait because it's not that critical. You can still search based on GPS location or State which I think still OK.

Below are my findings, it's quite enough (for study purpose). I'll update the list once I found any other mismatch.

Icon info

Pizza Hut icon = Housing Area
CIMB icon = 7Eleven
KIA icon = Restaurant
AMbank icon = Shopping Center (TESCO/Giant)
Jusco icon = Education/Goverment Administration Building
Building with flag = surau/mosque
Maybank icon = Hospital
Mydin icon = Agrobank
Carrefour icon = School
Esso icon = Car Park
Tesco icon = Taxi Stand
Mydin icon = Ambank
water pipe icon = TMPoint
Honda Icon = Market/Pasar
Public Bank icon = Hotel
Bookshop icon = Computer Shop/Mall
Airport/Plane icon = University

Category info

Department Store = Schools/Education
food and drink = ATM
hotel = Mosque/Surau
entertainment = Chinese temple
tourism = Speedtrap
petrol station = Housing Area
sports & golf = None
goverment = industrial/business
emergency = Toll Booth
health center = clinic
transportation = Bank
building = Hindu Temple
Residence = church
Bank = Others? includes digi, TM, Police Station
ATM = KFC/Pizza Hut
Convinience Store = Workshop/Service Center
Car Dealership = Restaurant
education = Embassy
religion = dunno, contains kompleks pkns, plaza citra, skynet cheras
other POI = Again, Chinese temple

If anyone want to have a look at the extracted BMP from the original Powermap Z9 MapAniPOI.psu, you can download it from:
[Please Register or Login to download file]

Below is the sample image of the map where the icon is not properly represents the POI.

Image

Another question, why we can't read the original MapAniPOI.psu came with MFM? I mean, when using this PSU, no icon is shown on the map at all. Any different with the header? Can we change that?

If you want to compare both, download it from [Please Register or Login to download file] .

Better use the powermap Z9 original Malaysia Map, you can download the Malaysia at http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2709-PAPAGO!-PowerMap!-Z9-HD-for-800x480.
I found the Powermap Z9 Original Malaysia Map 13 Aug 2010 version, can said the Map almost similar with MFM map, only the Junction view MFM map more than Powermap malaysia map, Powermap only have 300++ Junction view of Malaysia.

Been using the Malaysia map for quite some time and no, it's not as updated and complete as MFM map, not just the JV.
