I get this message on my Chinese PND 5", Win CE6.0, 533Mhz, Sirf4, c1 b4800 "Application encountered a serious error and must shut down".

Any idea?

I have test on GPS PND Sirf IV and Wice 6 working find. Did you use main program from 1st post?

In another way, may you want to check your GPS if your GPS is YF manufacture please refer to this link for upgrading firmware.

But yes this will be high risk for your GPS if not compatible. My GPS WinCE5 and Sirf III already upgrade firmware and skin and now more powerfull. Can showing 3D ring also for X6.6, X6.8 and X7.

I don't know whether can use YF or not.

1. Unpack papago.exe using UPX-----> UPX0, UPX1, UPX! then type UPX -d papago.exe
2. Using Ultra edit, Change :
- Unlock : 0x008350h ( 00 - 01 )
- COM : 0x06cd84h
- Baud : 0x06cda0h
- EXIT via 3D icon : 0X1A78C8H ---> ( F0 41 2D E9 change to EB BF 00 EA )

Please use the happy files from the 1st post by Ian. Now, I manage to get a white splash screen with chinese words, then 'application encountered serious error and must shut down'. Maybe you guys have better luck.
