path i found in the shell.ini is : "navipath=\SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe" change to become : navipath=\SDMMC\GPSSCANDEBUG.exe

Hi Monters,

Bingo! thanks. Just to share with everyone. I changed the contents in shell.ini but it made no difference, so I tried changing the other file, maplaunch.ini which had the below:
path = MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe; to path = GPSScan_Debug.exe;

Then the program started to run and a window popped up with the following information:
port COM 1
Baudrate 4800
Protocol NMEA

:D Thanks Monters, could you send me the file for com1 baudrate 4800 and NMEA :)

We still don't have X8.5 for 320x240 version yet!

Your device is original papago license software?
