Hi guys
I have a Eonon D5151Z car unit.
It came supplied with Kudos Maps Western Europe which i find rubbish. I purchased igo8 from ebay but when it loads it just says "out of memory"
Kudos maps are on 8gb card, igo8 on 4gb
any help appreciated

I doubt the device has too little memory.
First thing to do is to delete the save folder within the IGO folder. Try again.
When that doesn't work and the memory issue is still present, you should give us some more information:
Which program version ?
downloaded wherefrom?
What content?
Sys.txt?

Thank you.
I don't understand why my unit runs Kudos maps on 8gb card, but wont run igo8 on 4gb card unless i rename speedcam folder.
Also my maps are 2014. Are there newer updates?
Steve.

Don't understand why you should need to rename any folder. Unless you changed the name previously. BTW, what did you change it to?

I read on the net that speedcam data causes the "out of memory". Error
I deleted the "save" folder and then put an x on the end of folder
Eg. Speedcamx
All works now but don't understand why I got error when unit takes 8gb card?
I guess it has to relearn camera data

You don't have to rename anything. Most error messages happen because too much content is trying to be loaded when the program is first starting.

Do you have a huge speedcam .txt file in the speedcam directory? It sounds like whatever is in the speedcam directory is causing your out of memory error (since renaming the directory allows iGo to boot successfully).

Basic iGO with maps for a couple of states occupies less than 1GB and will run perfectly on a 1GB memory card. Your Maps and POI occupy most of the space on any GPS system card.
Complete iGO Primo with Maps and POI for all 50 US states need a 4GB card. The Speedcam folder for example, for all 50 US states is about 300Kb ONLY. You should look at every folder on your card and verify it size and content. I don't know where are you located and what countries maps do you want, no matter what it ALL should fit on a 4GB card! If you tell us the size of all your folders on your card, we can tell if they are right. Any questionable folders, you will have to list the individual files and we can tell you if you even need them and if their size is correct.

Just to clarify - the original post said that he is getting an "out of memory" error - which is completely different than being out of storage space. I don't think his problem has anything to do with the size of the SD card or the amount of free space. THe way I understand his problem, when he has the "speedcam" folder present, he gets an "out of memory" error when trying to start iGo. If he simply renames the "speedcam" folder, he can then boot iGO just fine. That is why I'm saying that something in the "speedcam" folder is the cause of his issues. Maybe an incorrectly-formatted speed camera database file?

The OP out of memory problem are all related to his question and my response why HIS iGO "wouldn't run on a 4GB card".
The iGO cards they sell on eBay are obviously ILLIGAL. iGO doesn't sell their software on memory card, they sell their software only to manufacturers that bundle their software with a specific Hardware. If you check the eBay listings, the card they sell don't contain Maps of only a couple of countries but a couple of CONTINENTS. Basically they load on these card every country Map, POI Language, Speedcam, etc. they can get their hand on and that is why they need 8GB of space.
They probably loaded too many Speedcams together and that is why he is running out of memory. If his speedcam.txt is larger than 150KB then that is his problem. That is the reason I said he has to verify what exactly is on this memory card and keep only what he actually needs and everything should fit on a 4GB card without a problem.

Try moving all the files out of the speedcam folder and only put in the latest .txt file.
iGO will create a new database file from the text file.
Perhaps the existing files are corrupted which causes a memory leak.

Lucky coincidence. I own exactly the same unit and I loaded all maps, POIs, speedcams, alerts (whatever there is out) for the whole Europe on my SD card. I only started to experience strange things (speed cameras to disappear, [url]/languages-voices-speedcams-f84/primo-speed-cameras-disappeared-t18177.html[/url]) after loading the Nasa 2006 DEM (probably for the full world ^^). I personally never experienced out-of-memory errors or so.
What worked for this unit for me:
- iGO Primo 2.4 9.6.13.405512 (removed the damn Honda branding lol)
- HERE maps for Europe 2015 Q3 (including POIs, junction views, 3D buildings, landmarks, etc.)
- Speedcams for Europe
All of the above can be found on this site (love you guys all!
)
Sys.txt I'm using:
[interface]
mapfontscale=150
show_exit=1
extra_settings=1
[debug]
skip_eula=1
max_memory=115343360
[route]
hnr_ignored_missing_country_ids=*
[3d_config]
disable_roadsign_navigation_mode=1
roadsign_bitmaps=0
roadsign_always_framed=0
There are some entries which only removes the bubble-style street name display, they were driving me crazy. I think the most important is the memory limit to be set, but hey, I'm no expert
