Install the application BaseCamp 4.1.2
Replace BaseCamp.exe file in BaseCamp installation folder with this patched file.

What's the advantage of using the BaseCamp 4.1.2 patched exe file?

Nothing - BaseCamp patched exe has no real use, only patched MapInstall (or MapSource) is usefull for creating map images on every disc drive.

On my Mac I'm using the normal Basecamp and Mapinstall from Garmin site and have no problem to install maps on Garmin or microSD card!?!
