Hi Paleskin,

That problem happen because *GIR file is resize 50% as originally program work for 800x480.
As you know inside *.GIR file is icon file, maybe we can get better size by resize 70% and need trial&error.
You need to program to extract *.GIR---->resize icon file----->compile back into *.GIR.

Need hard work to do that!

@Artful,

Thanks for this release of Garmin XT. It seems to work fine on my MTK 480x272 WIN CE 5.0 gps device. You mentioned that TTS works for this version of Garmin XT. How do I switch to the TTS voice if the [settings] does not work? Whether from the start-menu link or from the ? icon, I get the following error message when going to [settings]:

"Cannot find 'gmapplauncher' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libaries available."

It seems that there might be some missing dll files on my device to make garmin-settings work.

Also, can I just modify the garmindevice.xml and put the entry needed for TTS? What would be that entry that is needed for TTS?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Note: need to run port splitter first, otherwise it would not recognize the gps and would not get gps fix.

On the previous release of garmin, which was gmxt ver 5.00.20wp, the icons fit perfectly on 480x272 resolution, could we somehow extract the icons' sizes infos from it's QueBmp240.dll, and apply the sizes into the ones in GIR file ?

If it's possible, what tools needed to accomplish that ?

Hi Paleskin,

I'm not sure using that way. Possibilities is extract IMG.GIR and IMG240.GIR with resize to smaller size, maybe reduce 20-30%.

Hi,

What your device ?
Ce6/Ce5 or WM?

If your device WinCE with SDMMC you can try this : [Please Register or Login to download file]

Extract on root SDMMC card. Add map inside "system" folder. Map name must be gmapprom.img or gmapprom1.img
Add voice and vehicle folder.

Thanks artfull.
I have tested on my WinCE 5 GPS, I put Sgmy JCV into System/JCV folder, after several times simulation in singapore road, especially expressway, but still don't see any JCV pop out ?
What do you do in order it COULD BE SUPPORT JUNCTION VIEW ?

I have found that the when your speed is above, say 40klm/h , then the navigation screen appears to be very "jerky" - almost like three steps forward and a small step backwards?!

Does anyone else have the same problem?/
