Im not sure if the overlapping problem is caused by the Windows settings or not but it would be worth a try.
If the font setting is set to large which makes it easier to read on hi-res screen than it is possible that this affects the text in programs too.
As I said earlier it runs fine on standard evices so I can only assume that this problem is caused by the settings of the CE core.
Same goes for the crash problem, but it might help to run a dependency scanner to check if your system has some DLL files missing.

Downloaded the 1st storage card version today. Works OK on my 2din In car navi (waywell)

Only issue I have found is the keyboard in the search for street page is too small.
Anyone know how to make it larger?
I did a search and found the post re settings/keyboard/ist box but sadly it made no diff :(

Should make a difference if selected correctly.
Go to the keyboard settings and tick the tp box, after that you should get a big asian keyboard and after pressing on ABC you get it in latin.

Hi Downunder and Black Wolf,

I have the following configuration unit.

Windows CE 5, unit supports 800x480. I have used the Garmin Mobile XT (5.00.20wp software which I downloaded from one of your links.

I have unlocked the unit through jetmouse 1.5

I have uploaded the files that I have in my SD Card for your reference. Please note that I do not have a file called "Settings.dat" in any of the folders. In the Garmin Mortscript I noticed that its mentioned. thought I mention that too.
Following is how I tested the unit.>>
Click on navigation setup option on DVD screen (When I click on the navigation button on the screen it adjusts the screen automatically (shows on screen"Adjusting"))
Returns to the navi configuration application of the unit.
I browse map path from navi application to locate Garmin.exe (displayed path as \StorageCard\Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.exe) through SD card (drive label of SD card is SD Card)
I start the Navigation Application loads perfectly and lands on the Garmin home page.
I clikc on the "View Map" and it takes me to the map page with ready to navigate on top of the screen. However on the right hand side of the screen just before the zoom in (+) zoom out (-)buttons the screen displays a vertical tile of the map which belongs to the left corner of the map. This looks like a wallpaper being tiled. I hope understand what I mean.
But the unit still works without any exceptions been thrown.

through setting button of home screen I select browse map and the map is displayed without any errors. It lets me traverse the map with no errors and no rendering issues such as above.

However if I try to do a POI search or select the option of "Where Am I" from menu screen or when on ready navigate mode Garmin crashed with the following error and return backs to unit navigation configuration applications hope page. I select navigate and click and Garmin restarts but the problem still exists.

Please check attached error log for all errors and warnings thrown.

Hi Pargyrak,

I have the same error when I tried to access the POIs. Or even if you try to click on the "Where Am I" option. I am not sure what the problem is. thats why I uploaded the files that I am using with my Garmin Software. If I find a solution I will let you know. Mean while I am also looking for all possible help.

Cheers.

The problem with the "tiled" map is not only with this release, for some reason several CE devices show that and so far I have neither found a reason nor a solution for that problem.
I assume it is related to the display driver of the CE system.
Some device claim to have 800x480 while in fact they only have 640x480 pixels - it is simply interpolated.
There is a tool that can test your native screen resolution, but I forgot the name :(

ERROR: Assert failed at CDP_StaticListField.cpp : 646 in Garmin Mobile XT with error 0

This is one of many errors that usually came with the older releases while trying to use them on latest no name devices.
I tried to find more info on how these error start and why.
So far I found out that most manufacturers modify the CE system or even remove parts of it to replace it with their own code/program.
One "solution" that sometimes helps : download the latest MIOPCKET version and copy the DLL files from the coresponding folder into the Garmin folder.
Miopocket was so nice to include all common DLL files for CE5 and 6 ;)
I can't recommend installing Miopocket on any noname device due to the fact that this software does a lot modification to the flash drive and the Windows system resulting in a brick for most China devices - so be careful!

I would like to offer a Garmin version that runs on all systems but unless a hacker finds a way to include really everything into the program that would be provided by CE we won't have much luck.
Please keep in mind that there is no official Garmin version for CE - only for WM and a nice hacker modified it to run on CE as well....

Guys will this work on

Eroda LH950N
HD
800x480
WinCE 6.0
functions: FM, bluetooth, media files, etc.

I'm new to this. Another one I've identified is "PAPAGO! H5600 X7 - HD 800x480 (Taiwan Edition)". Is it a better choice for my unit?

Garmin in my opinion is best for areas where you don't have proper coverage with other systems.
As well as for off road navigation as you get pretty good topo maps.
If there is no special reason why you must have Garmin on you GPS than any other software will do good too ;)
