Converting Maps with MapConverter
1. Run MapConverter
2. Click NEXT
3. Select NO to software updates
4. Click NEXT. MapConverter display a list of all non-converted map poducts installed on your PC
5. Select map products you want to convert, and click NEXT
6. Select a location where you want to save the converted map files, and click NEXT

Looks good. But what is the actual function of this sfware. I hv converted a garmin map, then what can i do with this new map ?

View installation instructions and system requirements

Notes:

MapConverter converts maps and unlock codes on your Windows PC to the Macintosh format.
View instructions on migrating Garmin map products from Windows to the Mac here. (PDF file- 245KB)
Please send issues to [email protected].
Download and install the MapInstall/MapManager package to your Mac to complete the migration.
Change History
Changes made from version 2.0.1 to 2.1.1:
Detect Mac-compatible products and inform user that a conversion is not necessary.
Fixed an issue where MapConverter would crash if the 'My Documents' folder could not be accessed.
Fixed an issue with the conversion of US Topo 24K Central v3.
Removed compression feature which caused problems for some users.
Added enhanced map security features.
Installation Instructions
Download MapConverter to your Windows PC.
Double-click on the downloaded file to run the installer.
Click the Unzip button to install MapConverter.
System requirements
IBM-compatible PC running Windows XP or later operating system.

Unfortunately there is no possibility to reupload this tool to time.

But the patched version isn't really necessary. You can use unlocked maps or unlock them with mapsource unlocker in Windows and than convert them with the official version of MapConverter from garmin site:
