Сan you upload the file again, the link does not work.

I tried to unlock native firmware 3.00 using jnx firmware patcher 3.80.00, but the firmware just disappears from the Garmin folder on the device and is not flashed.

Thanks! Should this firmware be installed via WEBUpdater or placed in the internal memory (as GUPDATE) in the Garmin folder?

You have to change the name and name it GUPDATE.GCD and put it in the Garmin directory of the Etrex.

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32 2Gb>4Gb works best
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card into your device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.

Can someone explain how to get a map in Garmin 276 CX. I am a newbie here. If i download a rar file like Europe NT 2023.10 and i want to open this it says encrypted? What is the use then?? Thanx

Welcome to the forum, I've moved your post to this thread as it relates to the "encrypted message"
Your device requires patching to use unlocked maps.

Check in your garmindevice.xml to find the HWID
<PartNumber>006-BXXXX-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>xxx</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>GPSMAP276</Description>

Could be 2476 or 3262 Very important you use the correct patched firmware.
Once you have the HWID search this thread for the patched firmware using the number.

What is the proper way to flash a patched update on the 276cx? I've tried to copy the GCD file into the Garmin folder and disconnect/reboot but nothing happens

Not sure which HWID but if you look at the [Please Register or Login to download file] you see Garmin's comments

NOTE FOR USERS WANTING TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE ON ONE COMPUTER AND THEN INSTALL IT TO THEIR
DEVICE USING A DIFFERENT COMPUTER:

1) To download the region file used by WebUpdater, copy and paste this link into your browser
on computer #1:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

2) Bring GPSMAP276cx_580.gcd to computer #2 where your device is attached.

3a) Then you can drag-and-drop GPSMAP276cx_580.gcd onto the WebUpdater icon on your desktop.

3b) Or you can invoke WebUpdater at the command line, passing in the region file as a parameter:

C:\>WebUpdater.exe c:\path\to\GPSMAP276cx_580.gcd
