For a few years newer device's firmware could be patched (determined by their HWID) to use unlocked maps, since the DriveSmart 65 the firmware has been encrypted on these later devices.
Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

Welcome to the forum ,a wise move asking before you buy.
A quick search of this thread would confirm your research that the Montana 700 is part of the list of Newer devices that cannot be Patched to use Unlocked maps :022:

If you have updated your device the original firmware will be on your PC
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\PrimaryFirmware\PrimaryFirmware_PrimaryFirmware.006-B3452-00.9.50

Hi, i need to install NortAmerica maps in my DezlCam Europe version 6.20
I install a sd card and copy maps, but not works, gps says are corrupt.
I need to patch it? the list is down on server

I moved your post to the correct thread, confirm your HWID so we know what DezlCam you have

For example the DezlCam 785 is an android device so cannot be Patched by this method.
