Could you let me know, which programs/version you've used to create GPSMAP65_65s_WebUpdater_462_Patched_JNX.rar? I thought, the GPSMAP65 has a encrypted firmware which makes it impossible to modify it?

Not encrypted.
These are the tools but understand you already need to know how to recover your device before you try patching your device yourself.
You only have to ask for a Patch it's much less time than trying to unbrick your device.
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Yes you can use unlocked maps if you Patched your device.

HWID 3817-6.80
Cant see any post with this product.

A quick search brings up your device, but the news is not good as it is listed as NOT patchable due to the firmware being encrypted

Hello,

I`m new in this forum and dont have necessary experience to flash or unlock garmin gps units. I`ve explored this forum for couples of days now but still confused with so much information here which undoubtedly is a great thing :)

I have 4 units garmin 1490, garmin drive 50,51,and 52 that have either old maps or Lower US 49 state maps. My intend is to have them update with the latest map of North America.

I would appreciate anybody`s help with any walk-through how to do it or any previous link with similar models.

Except for your nuvi 1490, your drive 50,51 will need to be Patched to use unlocked maps. Your Drive 52 has encrypted firmware so cannot be Patched
Check in your garmindevice.xml to find your HWIDthen use it to search this thread for the Patched firmware
