God bless you!I had made that way but it didnt worked for me and I tried to upload the jnx maps on basecamp and format the SD.And then upload the jnx files to the sd with basecamp but it uploads only demo!So now I'm trying to copy the jnx files to sd/garmin/birdseye.

Note: the firmware update worked after formatting the SD. Also the jnx files found from previus user and version cause I bought it second hand! :023: :023: :023:

Thanks

Your Etrex 22-32 will need to bee Patched
Confirm your HWID by looking in your garmindevice.xml.
<PartNumber>006-B3445-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>270</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>eTrex 32xt</Description>
Then go to

Hello all,
I also plan to upgrade to 32x, if I understood correctly I need to use the img patcher for its firmware.
What about jnx?should I patch the "patched" firmware with the jnx patcher?
Edit: found my answer on old post, yes you patch img and then jnx.

No
For a few years newer device's firmware could be patched (determined by their HWID) to use unlocked maps, since the DriveSmart 65 the firmware has been encrypted on these later devices.
Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,53,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 ,GPSMAP 67 & 67i are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

I am planning also on updating my Drive 61 to Drivesmart 66.
From time to time I would like to use it offroad. On the Drive 61 I patched and used topoactive 2024.20 from my FR965. Is there any way to do it on the drivesmart 66?

Just want to say thank you so much for this! I don't know much about this subject but I learned how to patch my Garmin GPSMap 65s and now I can install all the satellite imagery (JNX) and custom KMZ maps I want, seemingly without any restrictions. Thank you so much! Because of this I am now able to make the most out of my device which I received as a parting gift for Christmas.

Please use the "Thumbs up" button NOT a post to say thanks-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Image

I have a similar question about GPSMAP 79s , but in my case it's like this:

<PartNumber>006-B4056-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>250</SoftwareVersion> (can upd to 260 or 270)
<Description>GPSMAP 79s WW</Description>

Does anyone have patched firmware or new version of patcher to recognize and unlock it?

Welcome to the forum, unfortunately not. If you use your HWID in the search you will see this has been explored before :022:

Hello, how are you? I have been searching for a whole topic on unlocking Garmin devices for a month and I have not been able to find a solution because the links are broken because the topic is old.

Through out this tread ppl are asked for the HWID even the post above yours, this is because the name of the device dose not always tell us what firmware is used.
Your device has 2 option and using the wrong one can make your device "a brick". Look in the garmindevice.xml and post what it is.

Here is the SD card Patch Kit for your device HWID 1948. In future use the HWID number in "search this topic" at the top of the page to find the Patched Firmware.
