Hi everyone, I'm new here and need some help.

I have a Japanese BMW Motorrad Navigator VI with the following info:

<SoftwareVersion>280</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>BMW Motorrad Navigator VI</Description>

The device is region-locked — no language options except Japanese, and I can't use European maps.
I'd like to install the latest European firmware (3.30 I believe?) and enable full language and map support.
Unfortunately, the stickied link seems broken. Could someone please share working firmware and instructions? I'd really appreciate your help!

The problem is that there are Chinese maps, I would like to know how to unlock the device and install European maps there. Can someone explain to me step by step how to unlock this device? After resetting the device and connecting it to Garmin Express and WebUpdater, I updated all available software and installed the Russian language pack.

As a result:
Region selection still only includes the USA and Asian countries.
Text language selection offers only English and two Asian (likely Japanese/Chinese) options.
Russian is available only in voice options, but not for menus or interface.

Can someone please advise how to fully unlock the language and region settings (e.g. enable Russian for text/interface and Europe in region list)?

Post #1 is 10 years old ,the SD card Patch kit is the easiest/latest way.
