I have Garmin Drive 50 with 5.20 software and HWID 2267, I have problem to find DriveandDriveSmart40_50_520.gcd.
Can anyone help here?
Or could I update on 5.70 and then patch firmware?

ok, figured it out...
it takes some time, but its worth it.

So the issue was: getting a FW unlocked and flashed to a Garmin device which is not in the known lists... while using windows tools on a Mac. (you can also do the following using windows).

-First, find your device type on the device. GarminDevice.xml
-Find out that your device is not listed on the known HWID lists.
-Try to find it somewhere else online
-Either find it here ([Please Register or Login to download file] ) or follow this guide to download your latest FW onto a USB stick ([Please Register or Login to download file] )
-Now you have the FW you want to patch, but you can only do this with windows .exe's. Download Virtualbox for Mac and a Win7 image from Microsoft ([Please Register or Login to download file] )
-Download the patcher from first post of this thread
-Download RGNTool from its authors website (google for RGN_Tool)
-Execute all steps in the tutorial from this thread in the VirtualBox guest (share drives to copy paste all files back and forth)
-Connect the Garmin and select in Virtualbox that you want to share this device as USB device in (install Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack to share usb device)
-Find out that virtual box is too slow to catch up with the short time of the boot loader of the Garmin.
-Find a hotel nearby with public computer, install Garmin drivers, run update.exe
-....
-profit

So, managed to get a firmware patched from a device which was not on the list. But only with the help from a windows computer.

Don't use the legacy Patcher and outdated FW list.
The current version of the Patcher is 1.30 and there is the FW list as of 15-06-18.

Hi I have a Drive 61 I'm looking to patch - the important info appears to be below however I don't have a GUPDATE.GCD file in my .system folder is important or does it appear when applying the "modified" firmware discussed here

Works fine on my Etrex Touch 35 firmware 3.70.

I could not see Topo Germany V8 on my Etrex Touch 35, after having patched it now I can see this map.
Here is how I proceeded, my Touch 35 was already with the latest firmware 3.70, so I downgraded the version of the GPS with the 3.60, I patched the version 3.70 and I installed it.
I do not use Updater.exe (Win 10 refuses to launch it and tells me it's dangerous) I connect my Touch 35 to the PC with the USB cable, I see the GPS in the explorer (I configured the USB in MTP mode in "system" on the GPS) and I copy the firmware in the Garmin folder.

Looking to patch a Garmin Drive 51 LM. I believe the HWID is 2586 and software version is 4.00. Can someone confirm this based on the info from the XML file below, and post a link for the latest patcher version?
